We will have a white Christmas. It's white out now and we're supposed to get at least several inches of snow before it turns to sleet and freezing rain tonight. Dh is running the store today and i'm taking tomorrow. I'm feeling a bit wiped out today. Quiet and a bit of bench work should restore me.

Oh, that’s so exciting Wendy.
I’ve been back and forth in my brains about getting one. I haven’t attached my GRS to my work bench yet....it would be so much nicer on a real bench 🤔

I know what the dh got me for Christmas.....at least I think I do. The box that came looks about the size of a kiln. 🤗

Just my two cents- install the GRS and start using it. It's 2 screws- when you get your bench either unscrew and reinstall or do like me and buy a second one!
I am having an issue finding the replacement actual wood pin on Rio that fits the GRS- the single ones I see seem to not fit and I just bought the holder for my second bench without a pin

I’m a little intimidated with the grs thing. I know once I get the hang of it, it will be no biggy. I’ve been watching videos about it’s usefullness. If anyone has a favorite video, just let me know.

The thing with my current bench is installing it would render two big drawers useless ☹️ Trying to figure out a workaround.

Went to the vet - the kitty is hating me and hiding - got breakfast at ChikFilA, and went to two different banks. No snow, just cold and wet

Good Morning! Thanks everyone. It felt great to have a down day. I had a quiet, but short ride on Millie. Overcame a little bit of anxiety about getting back on, especially since this place is so new...but she was a doll! So attentive and I think she was happy to be back to some real work. It's going to be interesting to see the changes in her now that hormones are no longer an issue. :-)

I would love the GRS system. Maybe this year :-) If online sales continue to improve...then I could justify the purchase.

I don't have a GRS for that same reason Jen, if installed for it to really assist me it would block off at least 4 of the drawers I use all the time and be in the way of the Flexshaft. There are real limitations to using an old teachers desk as a "bench"

I have the old GRS system- didn't see any point in upgrading to the new Q series and now they don't sell my old one. Regardless, it was the best investment I ever made for my bench. I started with just the basic set up, I already had the bench pin and mounting plate so added the original with the ring clamp, then added the inside ring holder system, then adjustable height bracket which you can set up to flip up or down, next added the swivel vise, then the small engravers ball, then this year the adjustable height slide. There is absolutely nothing other than forging I don't do using the GRS system. I'm probably one of their biggest fans

I knew they changed things but didn't realize the pin was changed. I have an old pin myself. No wonder I can't find the old ring thingy. I guess that one is gone now. :p
