I couldn't find it just now. I did come across the explanation for mitosis this morning on etsy, I swear. Old age. All I recall doing was checking a couple of new members shops. OK, now I'm stewing...

I am going to start my RAW (Ring a Week) with one of your stones today (Oregon Opal). I'll post when it is finished. I have a really nice design in my head.... now if I can only make it happen...

that mitosis ring is really super though, I was just checking Sue's flickr pics. the design and the way all the cells are placed. really pleasing to the eye.

when I saw the ring it reminded me of some earrings sue made last fall, blue, also with bubbles.

thanks rachel- it looks simple but it was kinda tricky- i had to make sure that there were contact points at the right places to solder to the post. i drew an outline of my hand and then set up the "cells" on the drawing and laid it out before soldering. there was a TON of clean-up. many, many soldering seams and the 14 g wire i used was tough to form. looks deceptively easy, well, i think so anyways. i look at it and think no way would that take someone 4 days to make, but it did.

yeah, I was admiring all the solder joins and the way the cells are held up. simple is not so easy as it looks.

haha cg- that's a mittens only ring.
i wore it last night to the restaurant and at least 4 people stopped by the table to admire it. kinda nice.

Sue, I had an Idea for finger ring and a necklace kind of similar a while ago. I based it more on bubbles than mitosis though. I got the Idea from a backdrop piece from some show I was watching at the time. Your ring reminded me that I never made it! LOL

cg- i think maybe you dreamed it and you just think you saw that word. i do that alot, confuse reality and dreams.
