Who listens to songs while painting?

Who here listens to songs while painting? If so, what do you listen to?

All my paintings/drawings were all done listening to a certain song,
for example:

Listening to music does influence me when I'm drawing and painting. If it's cheery and upbeat music it comes through in my work and when I look at some of my artwork, I can hear the music I was listening to when I created it. When drawing up this one for instance, I was listening to that song with the lyrics -
"I love the flower girl
Oh I don't know just why
She simply caught my eye"

I like a lot of progressive trance songs. Oceanlab's sirens of the sea on repeat is a good one for me. Basically anything where the lyrics aren't too complex and there's a good build up in the song that makes me feel motivated.

I listen to what matches the mood I'm in at the time, and my brush strokes follow that beat. I almost can't paint with out music! Some favorites are Skrillex, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Led Zeppelin.

Yeah! I can hardly paint without music! My favorite to draw to right now is 'Dance in the dark' by Lady gaga. And Adele 'Rumour has it' it makes me feel siked!

Yes!! Depending on the time of day or my mood it could be classical, jazz or just about anything else. 80s tunes and Poe are the faves in the "anything else" category.

I've been listening to a lot of Zoé lately, but I tend to just make a temporary playlists depending on the theme of my artwork and the mood of the music I want to be listening to correspond with that.

Sometimes I even start listening to songs I don't even like, Then all the sudden they are great.

I listen to pandora while I paint. Usually I like ambient stations, like the Air station, but sometimes I like to sing along to Devendra Banhardt. I find that music really helps to set a mood to my work.

I always listen to music when I draw; it is so important. Lately I have been listening to 'King Rat' by Modest Mouse alot. Also, 'Echo' and 'Aqueous Transmission' by Incubus. Lots of Puscifer and Tool as well. However I listen to at least twenty different artists in any given day. I think I was listening to 'Closer' by Goapele, and 'Beautiful' by India Arie when I drew todays illustration - which I will post tomorrow! ...The songs dont always match the drawing though.

My musical tastes and what I'm working on don't always complement each other though! The other day I was painting wedding favours, very pretty and feminine with lace and roses - whilst listening to Nirvana!

BBC 6 music (available online) is the one for me. The music is an eclectic mix of 'real music' presented by musicians, artists, writers etc and when I put it on, I can usually get started on something even if I was feeling a bit blocked.

I hate all that new music my friends listen to at school (who knows why), I mightn't have been born in the eighties but...yeesh what timeless music people came up with in that decade, I also love 'Groove is in the heart' by Dee-lite.

Haha! That is such a perfect drawing for that song Amanda. I listen to Dee-lite sometimes too. 'Good Beat' is my fave of theirs.

Oh man, I haven't listened to Deee-lite in ages! I need to put them back into rotation, that painting is adorables!

I've usually got specific playlists put together for various characters and themes (which probably only make sense to me - for some reason lately a lot of IAMX, synthy and/or jangly things from the 80s, and nice things like Olof Arnalds and Kurt Vile) but a lot of the time I've just got the television on.
