Hello
I have the same problem, art doesn't sell that great. I have noticed that prints work well but that doesn't mean you should go and spend £100's on equipment else you will be worse off.
Try finding a local print studio that offers the service to get your items scanned and get them to touch up the colours. Then offer prints on a ad hoc bases then you won't be holding lots of stock either.
Also you could get into a few more teams and see if there is anything missing on the SEO side of things that could help you get seen by more than the Etsy crowd. Maybe a few local craft shows and even church fates might be a good bet too.
I know that art takes a long time to create but you mustn't loose faith. Plus it hardly costs anything to keep your art in view on Etsy. Keep adding, as your items are lovely. Have you considered making them into badges, or pins or even canvas bags? So many people will like your art but don't have a place for it but will still want to take something away with them.
I am also having the same thoughts, I hope you didn't mind me sharing with you.
