3) Be prepared to have a conversation to fully understand critiques and reasoning
4) Be direct, specific, and focus on item being discussed
5) Make suggestions for improvement
6) As always, be kind and be sure to compliment something too.
Hello,
I make candles and coasters and trays.
my shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CandleShopByNB?ref=seller-platform-mcnav
I would like you to take a look at why I don't have many visitors and haven't managed to sell a single product yet? Are the products really that bad?
@CandleShopByNB I sent you a private message

Hi my name is Ariel and I opened my shop in August. I have been implementing marketing strategies and getting views and favorite's. The one thing that I can't seem to get is orders. If anyone could help me I would appreciate it.
@Former_Member What exactly have you done for marketing? How are you letting people know you exist?
Right now, the best thing you could do for your shop is to keep making and adding new items. More items = more traffic = more sales.
I really want to know if anyone sees what my shop can improve on, so I can catch some eyes? Thanks guys
Hi, would love to get critiques. I am getting low views on most listings. I would love help with tags, anything I am missing from description/titles. Thank you!!
@PASCUSCOMICARTSTUDIO I'll send you a private message

@PrairieGirlsAttic Interesting. I've not heard that world placement matters before. I'll have to experiment with a few items. THANKS!
I am kind of new on Etsy and my question isn't more focused to one subject but to the overall business: Description, tags and products itself. Any critiques, feedback and suggestions are very very welcomed. Thx

I think things look great! But I am new as well, so I don't have much input. I followed you, if you'd like to follow me maybe we can get some traffic?
@Babographic Your shop is set up beautifully. If you have any issues, it's with inventory and marketing:
1) Inventory - Just keep making. More item = more traffic = more sales.
2) How does the world know you exist? How are you bringing people to your shop. We have some suggestions at: https://community.etsy.com/t5/art/WELCOME-NEW-MEMBERS-OF-THE-ART-TEAM/td-p/139228997?nobounce

Merhaba!

@LavenderByYasemen I'll send you a message. THANKS!
New to Etsy and while I have 8 sales, they are all from family and friends. I've read tons, joined the ARTS Team and have felt incredibly supported and am so very thankful for that. Other than adding more items, which I'm working on, I know there are things I can do to improve my shop so would love your thoughts. One area I'm curious about is price. I know original art is normally priced higher than what I am charging but I've seen others with similar-ish type and size art who are charging about what I am, maybe a bit more. However, most of my paintings are on paper and not framed or matted. I've also tried prints but don't have a printer and found that the POD prices were just too much with shipping. Anyway, any thoughts, ideas about anything would be so wonderful. Thanks so much!
@tdemelartstudio Let's take a look at your shop.
1) It's set up beautifully. And you're right, you just need to keep adding paintings on your shelves to bring in more traffic and sales.
2) Other improvements. Are you on social media? That's a great place to find and attract people to your shop. And we have lots of activities to help.
3) Price - This can be difficult for many new shops. There's no correct answer. Some people charge by how much they feel emotionally about a piece and it can see very random. Some charge by an hourly rate + materials. Others create a price based on size. Another way is materials+labor x 2 = retail price. But, it sounds like you're already very competitive. And your main concern is marketing and finding customers.
4) As for prints, frames, posters, etc. The only way to discover the answer is to experiment. If you want to test prints, go to your local print shop and test out 10 prints. Frame a couple pieces and see if they sell quicker. Most off all, have fun
Thanks so much, Mike. Yup, inventory is on my priority list. I get excited just seeing 6 views and 2 visits but realize that's not nearly enough to do anything. I keep playing with my titles and tags as I learn new things so hopefully, those are okay. Not too many longtail keywords to describe my stuff that has decent search and CTR that isn't highly competitive.
As for social, yes, I post new items on FB and Instagram. Just started using hashtags on Instagram and I did participate in the recent Pintrestathon so thanks for organizing those.
Appreciate your help in setting up this supportive community.
