Hi All, 

Delighted to be joining this forum. I'm a copywriter and author based in the UK, and I first dipped a toe into the wonderful world of vintage when I started collecting antique illustrated children’s books. Spending a lot of time ferreting in cobwebbed attics or scraping the bottoms of boxes in garage sales, I inevitably came across numerous post and greetings cards as well as posed studio shots dating back as far as the 1800s, and amassed quite a collection of those too.

From the start, I felt these delightful ladies and gentlemen had a lot to say, and copy lines just seemed to pop fully fledged in my head, so  I started writing them down, sharing them with friends, and in no time at all, my collection had evolved into a range of gift books -  The Vintage Ladies Diaries, Journals, and Notebooks. 

I set up my shop because people were asking if I could make  individual shots in the book available for purchase and Etsy seemed to offer a great way of doing it. I'm currently finding my way around with fingers crossed that I'm not doing anything stupid, and at the same time that I'm maximising all the seller options available. 

If any of you have a moment at any time to look at my shop with a view to spotting anything glaringly dreadful, all input would be welcome. In the meantime, I'm going to take a stroll around and look at others in this group, hoping I can learn by example. Have a good week everyone.

@VintageLadiesShop What an amazing journey you've been on.  I love all the antique photographs.  I love finding them at thrift store and flea markets myself.  And these images were so much more precious when they were taken so long ago.  It's interesting to think about how these moments were important for them to document at that time.

Your shop is set up beautifully.  You should keep doing what you're doing.  And let the world know your shop exists.

Comme Marianne de Bretagne, je vis en France et comme elle, en retraite depuis quelques mois, j'OSE réaliser mon rêve de partager ma passion pour la couleur, le mouvement, l'expression de la Vie, selon moi. Je ne me prétends pas artiste car je n'ai pas fait les brillantes études de Mike mais simple créatrice d'objets de décoration murale d'intérieur, c'est pourquoi je me reconnais dans les valeurs d' ETSY et de cette communauté d'entraide. Des soucis techniques, j'en ai plein, depuis mon arrivée sur la plateforme, parce que je suis débutante. Mais grâce à toute l'équipe, je me sens soutenue. Merci Douha de m'avoir relancée pour me challenger, j'étais un peu perdue sur les notions de tags et mots-clefs. Merci Mike de m'avoir invitée. Je vous souhaite à tous une merveilleuse année 2023. J'espère pouvoir contribuer selon mes pauvres moyens à cette communauté. Je vis dans un endroit merveilleux, le vignoble bordelais, Saint Emilion pour les connaisseurs en vin français au milieu d'un grand jardin que je compose depuis 2 ans avec des centaines de fleurs et d'arbres, avec un mari adorable, une petite chienne Spitz et un gros labrador noir, ma "fine équipe". Excellente fin de semaine.

And you're right about having more listings.  Etsy boosts your shop once you have 150 items, which I see you do.  It will happen again somewhere between 250-300 items.  More items = more traffic = more sales.

And lots more listing fees!  But I am on 'reserve" which is a pain in the butt

Its not just adding more products, its adding more of the same type of product in categories with the same key words.  Have the key word in the title of each products as well as  in the text and the photo tags.  I will give you an example. My store is all vintage.  My categories are cats, dogs, animals, model cars and so forth.  I recently bought 40 Japanese Siamese cat figurines from the 1970s, all made by the same company.  When I post all 40 siamese cat figurines it will be the biggest collection of these on Etsy. I will be in every search result  for siamese cat figurines and vintage siamese cats. I will be flooding Etsy  with it.  And thats just one product group. My advice would be to build your inventory before launching your store
