Re: Introduce Yourself and Shop To the ART Team

Hello to the art community! I am a Scotland based seller who sells handmade bracelets, earrings, and necklaces. I love making pretty things with my hands, and I am always open to explore a different way of making jewellery. While I haven’t yet had that many sales to flex, I am so grateful for the every OG customers who ordered from me and said how much they loved my creations. I am looking to improve my Etsy performance, here’s the link to my shop. I look forward to growing with other handmade sellers. Any advice or communication is greatly appreciated! https://universestudioscraft.etsy.com

@UniverseStudiosCraft WELCOME TO TO ART TEAM!  We're so happy you're here.

Your shop is beautiful.  And the best advice for you is to just keep making and adding jewelry.  More jewelry = more traffic = more sales.  And once you have 150 piece, Etsy will boost promotions of your shop.  And that becomes very noticable during the holiday season (October - December.  THANKS AGAIN and we look forward to getting to know you!

@MikeKrausArt Thank you, Mike! Is it part of the E algorithm? I always wonder how many more listings I should add, but feel worried about the conversion and stressed on being unable to cover the costs

Re: Introduce Yourself and Shop To the ART Team

@UniverseStudiosCraft You can keep growing gradually.  And it make take longer for your shop to grow.  But, do what is comfortable for you.

But 150 items listed per year should be around $90 (67 GBP), if the rates and fees are the same in the UK.  And increasing sales should cover that fairly quickly.  It's good to look at the numbers to determine how many sales you need to make to reach the goals you hope for.

Re: Introduce Yourself and Shop To the ART Team

Hello to the art community!  My name is Nenad and I recently opened my Etsy shop called VintagismPancsova. I’m a passionate collector and admirer of unique, vintage items. Through this Etsy shop, I share my love for carefully selected fountain pens, watches, lighters, jewelry and various other antiques that carry the charm and character of past times. Each item in my collection is authentic and tells its own story. Whether you're looking for an elegant writing instrument, a classic wristwatch, a rare lighter, beautiful peace of jewelry or a piece of history – you’ll find something special here.I believe that every vintage item deserves a second life and that true collectors recognize beauty in the details. I'm still learning how Etsy works and would really appreciate any tips from experienced sellers—especially about how to improve listings, get more views, and handle shipping. If you have a moment, feel free to check out my shop or listings. Any advice would mean a lot! Thanks in advance, Nenad

@VintagismPancsova

WELCOME TO THE ART TEAM NENAD!  We're so happy you're here!

And you have a great shop with so many beautiful pens.

Also, your shop is set up beautifully and you should continue doing what you're doing. I do have a suggestion. Have a friend or family member make the first purchase. Perhaps give them a discount in exchange for a good review. Online selling is like a tip jar at a cafe or for a street performer. If the jar is empty; no one gives. But, if there's a few bills and coins in the jar already; people are more generous. Once that first sale is made, the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th will come more rapidly.

Once you get that sale, let me know. I'll have other suggestions

Mike

PS - If you are having difficulty finding someone to make that first sale, you can trade with other shops at: https://community.etsy.com/t5/art/Barter-Trade-Page/m-p/139684666#M4412376

Thank you so much for adding me here, @MikeKrausArt ! I'm loving this forum already and I'm only two days in. I'm a queer illustrator and designer and artist based in northern Vermont, USA. I have been drawing my whole life! Everything I sell in my shop was created by me, from my lil hands lol, and I just love sharing my art with the world and making people smile with my art. I've had an Etsy store lying dormant since 2011 and it wasn't until early 2024 when I finally got the courage to put my work out there for others to purchase, have, and enjoy. Come to me for whimsy and adorable art and fun puns! https://twinkletaters.etsy.com

Re: Introduce Yourself and Shop To the ART Team

@CollectionOfTroves  Unfortunately, we're not Etsy.  Only shops helping other shops.  So, we don't have access to your personal information.  And can't make suggestions based on that.

But, we do have other ways we can help.  One is our "Knowledge Base" at: https://community.etsy.com/t5/art/tkb-p/10723tkb-board  And we hope to grow and expand that over time.

Another great place to get started is our Welcome New Members thread with suggestions at: https://community.etsy.com/t5/art/WELCOME-NEW-MEMBERS-OF-THE-ART-TEAM/m-p/139228997#M4377965

And please let us know if there's something you are looking for help on.  We'll find a way to a solution!

THANKS AGAIN!

Re: Introduce Yourself and Shop To the ART Team

Hey y’all, I’m Gee — the creative chaos behind Poxy Rose. I’m based in Texas and while Etsy says I’ve been here for two years, I’ve only been taking it seriously for the last six months. Half the time I’m figuring it out as I go, but that’s kind of the beauty of it. I’ve always loved color, texture, and a little bit of mayhem — so mixing resin quickly became my kind of therapy. Every piece I make is a little loud, a little personal, and a whole lot of me. Thanks for being here while I learn, grow, and get a little messy in the best way.

And with Etsy, once you figure everything out; they change it.  So, we're all learning all the time.

Keep up the great work and we can't wait to see what you make next!

Re: Introduce Yourself and Shop To the ART Team

Hi! My name is Elena and I currently live in Turkey. I have always loved everything related to handicrafts: sewing, embroidery, knitting, beading. DIY has been a part of me since childhood.

About a year ago, I discovered macrame and crochet and they completely captured my heart. It all started with one video, and soon I was tying knots and creating patterns that I had never dreamed of before. Since then, the art of sewing has become more than just a hobby - it is an important part of my daily life and my small business.

With the support of my husband, I opened an Etsy shop where I now sell my handmade macrame and crochet products. Each piece is made with love, and I am so happy when I realize that something I created with my own hands can bring warmth and beauty to someone's home.

I am happy to be a part of this creative community and look forward to meeting other craftsmen and shop owners!

Re: Introduce Yourself and Shop To the ART Team

WELCOME TO THE ART TEAM @KenswoodDesignsca !  We're glad you're here!

And your woodwork is beautiful.

A couple of things may help.  The fun answer is keep making and adding new pieces.  More woodwork = more traffic = more sales.  Once you have 150 pieces, Etsy will boost promotions for your shop.  And having as many pieces as possible will be important when the holiday season (October - December) arrives when 75-80% of yearly sales occur historically.

But, I'm sure you have some downtime in the woodshop.  So, what are you doing to invite people to see your shop?

Re: Introduce Yourself and Shop To the ART Team

Well, let's try something simple.  Are you on any social media?

If not, you may want to start handing out business cards, make a newsletter/email newsletter/blog, events, collaborate with complementary business, advertise, direct mail, or other form of marketing.

Re: Introduce Yourself and Shop To the ART Team

Hi everyone!

Thank you Mike for inviting me to this community, it's an honor to be among these artists. I browsed through your stories and they impressed me. Let me give you a little introduction about myself.

I'm Nilay. I'm only in my late 20s. I live with my cat in Türkiye. I've always wanted to run my own business. I've admired strong women since I was little. A nice car doesn't impress me, but a woman in a nice car does. After college, I worked in corporate and it rotted my soul. Thanks to this job, I realized that money wasn't the most important thing in life, but rather inner peace. I didn't use to care about that. If I was making a good living, nothing else mattered. I broke my chains, chose myself, and resigned.

Because I was used to working long hours, I couldn't even stay idle that day. That same day, I started researching and discovered Etsy. I opened my store about a month ago, but after only two weeks, I decided to rebrand. I deleted everything and started over. It feels like my store has opened twice in a month.

I sell tech accessories. Phone cases, laptop cases, AirPods cases, and more. All designs are my own. I'd like to take drawing lessons in the future and improve my skills. I want all the drawings to be my own, not just the designs, and I want to incorporate them into the products. I hope things go well. I enjoy doing all of these things.

I think we can all achieve this with the support of this community. I'm here
