Howdy there, my name is Joel Marmer.. attempting to get a lil random this & that shop up & running. I enjoy buying & selling things of all types & decided to give it a try on Etsy. In addition to this though I also enjoy the strange or non conventional aspects of existence so my inventory will be broad as it increases. Currently featuring stickers, more to come. Feel free to check in anytime & or request an honest discussion on feedback, brainstorming or just bounce ideas off of in general if you’d like. Am open to collaborating & in general if I can help with something then I will. Appreciate the invitation & look forward to learning more about teams
@UnsolicitedThoughts Glad you're here Joel! And looking forward to seeing all of your eclectic items. And you're invited to our holiday sales parties at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1934458910278595 A great way to work together. THANKS!

Hi, I'm Dave from the rear end of nowhere in England.
I've been sharing my artwork with friends on Facebook. Someone suggested that I should I should try selling some of it as t-shirts, so here I am. I have a full-time job for paying the bills and this is a sideline. My aim is not to make a loss and sell people t-shirts, that they will enjoy wearing and might even be conversation starters. I started my shop in September and have made 4 sales so far, so things are slow but overheads are low and hopefully things will pick up as I expand the range and get more of an idea what people like.
Thank you Mike Kraus for running this forum, I hadn't to this point really thought of Etsy as community, but I'm really impressed by some of the shops on this forum. I wish the best of success to everyone.
@StudioSkullShop WELCOME DAVE! And congrats on your first 4 sales. Those will be your most difficult. Right now, we're in the holiday sales shopping season. So, it's all about getting your items in front of customers looking for gifts. And since you're on Facebook, a good place to share your T-Shirts would be our holiday party at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1934458910278595
The ART Team tries to preserve the sense of community that Etsy started with many years ago. It's Etsy shops helping Etsy shops. It's about building relationships with customers. And it's about finding success living our dreams. And we're glad you're now a part of that journey
Marianne,
BIENVENUE DANS L'ÉQUIPE ARTISTIQUE ! Et à Etsy ! Et félicitations pour votre retraite. Quelle période passionnante de votre vie.
Et nous sommes heureux de voir plus de vos créations concrètes!
@sanderswoodworking WELCOME TO THE ART TEAM STEPHEN! We're glad you're here. And I think everyone is a bit frustrated with Etsy right now. So, you're in good company.
@AbyLijoDesignCo HEY ABEENA! We're glad you're here. And I'll send you a message about your first sale
My name is Donald Sylvester. I paint watercolors and my shop in Sylvester Gallery. I have not really been on ETSY very long (just 2022). I had several problems with my shop. I only sold one painting this year which was to my daughter. I have the same 140 paintings on EBAY and sold about 40 or 50 of the same ones.
I am in the process of dropping my prices to see if i was over priced.
I will keep changing and making modifications to see progress.
If anyone in this group has any suggestions, I would appreciate your comments about my shop (SYLVESTER GALLERY).
Thanks for asking.
Don Sylvester
Herkese merhaba

@CandleShopByNB I'm so sorry about you losing your dog. That's so difficult. They are such wonderful companions. And I hope making candles helps you through that pain.
I'll send you a private message about your sales.
@SylvesterGallery WELCOME BACK TO ETSY and TO THE ART TEAM! We have many suggestions for improving your shop at: https://community.etsy.com/t5/art/WELCOME-NEW-MEMBERS-OF-THE-ART-TEAM/td-p/139228997 Looking at your shop, I think you may have a couple of issues. 1) You may need to market your shop a bit so customers know you exist. 2) You may be caught in a "catch-22" with the "star seller" program. You can't make sales because the program is blocking your shop. But, you can't get the badges until your shop makes sales. This has been an issue with lots of new shops and I suggest letting Etsy know about it at: https://community.etsy.com/t5/art/quot-STAR-SELLER-quot-SURVEY-FOR-ETSY/m-p/135069332#M4074422
Also, here is the link to our main forum page: https://community.etsy.com/t5/art/bd-p/10723 Etsy's navigational "upgrades" have been very confusing. I personally bookmark the page because I get easily lost too.
Mike,
Thanks. I got this in an email. I did not know how to get back to the group. (Bookmark).
I have sold about 50-60 prints on EBAY (exact same ones) but only one in about ten months.
I hired a consultant. I am retagging all of the prints and also dropped the price and added two size options (8x10,11x14).
I appreciate your comments.
I am not sure though what to do to market the shop in ETSY?
Any ideas or any articles to read?
Thanks again sir.

@SylvesterGallery This is the link I book mark on my browser: https://community.etsy.com/t5/art/bd-p/10723
Having good tags helps. And we have some suggestions at: https://community.etsy.com/t5/art/6-SEO-Tips-For-Success/ta-p/135012651 Just know it can take up to a week for them to be indexed and searchable.
Having more size options will help too. And more items = more traffic = more sales.
2) Where can I find my customers? Are they on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, elsewhere?
3) How does my artwork help my customers?
Once you know the answers to these questions, you'll know what to do and where. Also, we're hosting holiday sales parties at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1934458910278595 It's a great place to find new customers
Mike,
I have been on ETSY now actively trying to sell 11 months. I have the same 140 prints on EBAY and have sold about 30 prints on EBAY, but NONE on ETSY?
If I had not sold any on EBAY, I would think there is no market. Any ideas?
Sorry to bother you with this. If you tell me, I would be glad to pay you for any analysis.

@Vshreejewellers Welcome Anuraag! You have wonderful jewelry. And we're looking forward to helping each other find success
@AllloveUS Looks like you're doing well at building up your shop. And I see you have holiday soaps all ready. And that's really good for your shop in the long term.
I imagine you're a bit more concerned about the short term holiday sales right now. And, for that, you'll need to do a lot of marketing. Letting people know you exist. So using Pinterest, Instagram, TikTok, and any other social media would be helpful. Having a marketing plan is always a good idea. And, if you're on Facebook, we're currently hosting a holiday sales party at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1934458910278595 which is a great way to find new customers
Thank u mike for being a good guy and always trying to help! God bless , and to everyoneelse hello all I hope everyoneis having a good day. Xmas is coming really fast. Merry Christmas to all!
Hi! I'm Clara. I'm the maker from MinnesotaNiceFinds. I grew up in a home in Minnesota and since then have never moved. Ever since I grew up I've always loved to do crafty and artsy stuff. Drawing used to be my favorite thing, but that changed when I received a polymer clay and jewelry kit. I started experimenting with lots of stuff and was inspired to start a small online business with the things I had made. We searched around and thought Etsy would be the best place to start. I wasn't very experienced at the beginning, I was around 13 when I started. I barely had any products and wasn't good at taking pictures. Now I have a growing business. I sell handmade earrings, painted rocks, and clay charms. More is to come!!
