Relisting problems

Hello there: I just started using the software and followed all of the instructions to re-list items and the items were scheduled for every 15 minutes however none of the items were renewed. It even has a completed check mark next to the items that were already supposed to have been re-listed however nothing was re-listed. Does that mean that I will be charged through Etsy as well? I checked my bill and I do not see the charges but I just want to be sure.

Please help! I absolutely love this software because it is quicker to select items to re-list however it does not seem to work properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Please disregard last message. It has been resolved. It was my own fault and it works wonderfully. I am so thrilled. I will be posting suggestions or wishes for functions for the software. Thank you.

Hello again:

I am experiencing a new problem that I can't seem to resolve this time. I currently mainly use the Zetsy software to relist items and when I run the program and all of the products get uploaded to the software, I can't seem to click on the second window (the Zetsy Product Listing window). The section I would go through my products to add to the re-list screen so that i could schedule. I see both windows open (the home page and the zetsy product listing) but I can only click on the homepage. So currently, I can only relist by uploading the entire shop products and then deleting what I don't want relisted. What is your recommendation to resolve this? Do I need to uninstall and reinstall the software? I've tried closing it and re-opening it several times and for some reason I can't click on that second window at all. Any recommendation would be appreciated.

I've tried it on mine and it works. I did find a scenario where this does occur - when the program is still downloading listings. You have a very large shop and I think it may still be downloading items; either that or its hung up on a listing. After downloading, Zetsy will always tell you what it downloaded. Do you see that? Try this: Unclick the <Download All Available> checkbox and dial in 10 listings to download. Can you now get to the window?
You can also save the downloaded listings inito the local database and then retrieve them. This should also allow you to get to the window. Let me know if this works or doesn't and I'll try some more troubleshooting.

Hello there:

I do wait for then entire shop to download and it seems to get be hung up on a listing. When I first used the software, I did not experience this problem. I was able to get to that window without a problem but now when I click the program on the task bar at the bottom of the screen and it shows a preview of the windows you have open I can see that it is stuck or hung up on a listing when I hover the mouse over the lady bug icon. I see that window but I click it and it will not come up. It is stuck behind the main screen.

I have not yet attempted to try the 10 listings at a time. I hope to try this to see if it will work.

What are the steps to save the downloaded listings into a local database? How would this work for let's say if some of those listings have sold and I select them to re-list?

Right now I have to download the entire shop each time I have to shut down my computer and restart it. Which can be time consuming process. Is their a different way to do this?

Many thanks for your help. I will try downloading fewer items later today to see if that works.

Unfortunately I don't have a good tutorial on this. This needs to be on my TO DO list! There is a bit here:

Essentially once the listings are downloaded you can create and save the database, This is under the menu File item. Once saved, the database can easily be reloaded and, if needed, resynchronized to your shop. A problem I have is the program is evolving. If you hover the mouse over a menu item in many cases it will explain in better detail what the function does, I;ve been adding this with each update,

Your questions on autorenewal and the database are good ones. The database download was designed with the catalog function in mind, not auto-renewal. This is something I will need to look at and get back with you. This weekend is unusually bad for me in that I'm visiting with family but I will get back with you.

On another note you can download up to 100 listings at a time. The offset value represents a number of where to start. That is if this number is 200, the first listing downloaded will be 201. From this you can determine which listing is causing the program to hang. On my improvement list is the ability to see which listing numbers are being downloaded as it happens. This would help in troubleshooting this problem.

Thank you for explaining the offset value. That will come in handy as well. I will give that a try. It's weird because as I've mentioned, when the first couple of times I downloaded my entire shop, it did not get hung up on a listing. It suddenly started and each time it gets hung up on a different listing. The first few times it would get hung up on the same listing. What would cause this by the way and what should I do if I notice it getting hung up on a specific listing? Then it started getting hung up on different listings.

I had a nice time visiting my parents and sister who are about 4 hours way.
Now its Monday and I'm back at work at the "real" job and here

I'm doing some research on how this could be happening. Its a real mystery of why a specific listing would hang. I will probably build some more diagnostics and error coding in the next version. I did release a new version tonight which has a couple of requested additions to the auto-renewal. More to come!

I just posted a program update which does a better job of downloading and tracking the listings. I also checked the listing update function. After downloading and saving the listings. The listings can be quickly updated by clicking the update function when downloading. This will track whether a listing has been sold or not and update the database accordingly. This should make re-downloading all of your listings much quicker. I have a couple of other ideas to try out as well, but this should help. Let me know if you run into problems.

Hello there again:

It me again. :-) So I tried out the new version mainly for relisting items and love it. The question I have now is that your mentioned that we could auto update listings so that when something sells, it will delete it. However, once the product is downloaded on to the re-list tab, the auto update does not work on that page. Is there a quick way to update the listings on that page or if not, be able to delete the listings on that tab then auto update the listings on the main page and then download all listings on that tab? My preference of course would be to be able to auto update listings on the renew tab but I'm not sure if it is possible to do that there.

Once you have saved a database you can update the listing info by the update listings checkbox underneath the download button. Thus the data is there. I think I have to tweak the autorenew to get that update as well. I'll look into it.

I had some re-listing problems today. I checked the box to send you the info so hopefully you can view the issue on your end. I received a message that said Invalid JSON and a few other messages. There were also 6 listings that were renewed back to back. What could have caused that? That really makes me nervous.

I'm looking into the error logs to see what I can do to prevent issues when the Etsy API (interface to Etsy supported by Etsy) goes down.
