Here’s two new scarves from my shop The Weaver of Words:
This scarf is called:
her one true love, woolen scarf
it was late summer
when she found it
the autumn chill had
already crept into the air
she had been out camping
on the eastern coast
on a beach known for
its enchantment
its magic
she was scouting
for driftwood for the fire
when she heard strange
beautiful lilting strains of music
floating in the salty air
she hiked toward it
following the melody
down below the lighthouse on the cliffs
she found it
a letter in a blue bottle
washed up onto the shore
sunk deep into the sand
she bent down
removed the cork
slipped out the scroll
and read it:
“I had always felt like such a misfit,
an island onto myself,
until I met you.
my secret love,
she who camps alone
beside the sea.
I know love can be blind,
But I also know that
it’s also the only thing
that’s truly real.”
her hands shook
as she kissed the letter
she recognized his
beloved handwriting.
she was resolved
to pack up in the morning
and head home to
to a place where she knew
she would find
the only thing
that’s truly real
.
I came up with this snippet of a story using all of Julie’s 15 chosen words for the 57th Scavenger Hunt challenge, I didn’t have time to do a treasury, but I just couldn’t resist the words. Julie’s chosen words: island, misfit, lighthouse, letter, summer, scout, love, secret, blind, hike, beach, camping, music, kiss, resolve.

the enchanted oak grove, woolen scarf
she had journeyed so far and wide
she wasn't sure where she was anymore
her compass lost
in the river crossing
swift and deep
she found her way
by her intuition
guided by its tugs and pulls
in the ancient ways
learned from her grandmother
she knew she didn’t have much time
she knew she must find them soon
the dryads,
spirits of the trees,
that lived deep within
the enchanted oak grove
the whole village depended on it
they were
their last hope
their final chance
of lifting
the dark curse
spreading across
their lands...
