Happy Mothers Day

Ruth so sorry  for all the head aches and stress you and your husband  are having to go through.

My husband and I used to have rentals  a few years ago and know all the head aches that go with a bad renter! We had a renter that was 3 months behind on rent and they were playing hide and seek with us for a few months. We thought we were going to have to go the legal route you are going to get him out, talked with a lawyer. From the way he explained it the tenant has more rights that the property owner does! Which in my way of thinking that's wrong. We finally caught the guy home and told him he had until 6 pm that night to get all his stuff out.

And luck had it when we went back him & his belongings were gone. The place was a mess but at least he was out of the house and after that we cleaned & painted and replaced carpet in the house and ended the rental business!

Thanks Vera- You did luck out. Yes- this rental business can really have its challenges. Someone said to us, if this is the first time this has happened ( and it is),considering we have multiple rental houses and my husband has been in this business for over 20 years- consider ourselves lucky. When I look at it that way- I guess we are. But right now, it doesn't feel that way.

But it's great to hear there are owners like you 

When I was getting my paralegal degree I worked at a place at the courthouse for low income tenants that were being evicted for anything other than non payment. 

I was so surprised to see how many slum lords there are

And yes, unfortunately, the legal system can take years to resolve things

Happy Mother's Day everyone!  Hope you all are relaxing and having a great time!!!  I took my Mom out yesterday, had so much fun!

Doggie is much better now!  Thank you for all your compassion.  Still one in, but she is jumping around now.  Keeping an eye on it for infection, but it should dissolve.  I had to learn years ago NOT to rely on veterinarians and I have lots of first aid under my belt from treating heat stroke to giving stitches and changing dressings in gaping wounds that cannot be stitched.  My dog cannot do car rides, so only true life-threatening emergencies will cause me to call in a mobile vet.

Wow Ruth, so sorry to hear of your troubles.  I'm old school, we handled things differently when the legal system took too long.  Communities used to bond together, making it difficult for folks like them to exist happily in the same town.  Pity society is different now, everyone is divided allowing scum like that to fester and thrive.

My old chickens have forgiven me.  Another roo left today, so the whole flock is distrustful.  Have 3 or 4 hens and a roo leaving tomorrow and then that is all that is being given away.  In about another week, things will be back to normal with the hens and Courage the cowardly rooster.  🙂
