How do you know if you are being scammed?

Someone wants to buy a wholesale order off of me and they dont want to pay though paypal they want to send me a check. I insisted that they pay with pay pal and they ordered the item today and checked out with other, so I guess they are sending me the check. Does this sound scamish to you? ( Yeah I made up that word)

Just be careful, make sure the check clears before you send the order.

I'd say as long as the check fully clears before you send it, you should be ok :)

I have had someone do this with me as well. After they ordered, I messaged them to inform them that their item would not be sent until the check fully cleared. If you don't have that in your shop policies, I would put it there too, so everyone can see that :) Good luck, hope it's a legit sale!

I agree to wait until the check clears.
I have also added the option of paying through Amazon. If they already have an account there, people might feel more comfortable paying that way ... in the future. (Amazon is free to you and to them! Amazon does not take a cut of your sale like Paypal.)

But, some people are just hesitant to put information online, paypal or amazon or any site. Be careful and good luck.

WOW. I hope you waited before sending the items. Never trust checks until they are clear. Only if the relationship is there with the person who handed you the check, can you trust them, but even then. I buy wholesale clothing at http://TashaApparel.com constantly. I always notice they ask for proof of address when checks are given. I think its a great concept you might want to also use in case the customer gives you a fishy vibe.
