Announcement:NEW TEAM PAGE! Please familiarise yourself with the new layout, and enjoy the activities!
We will be focusing on viewing listings and then hearting directly.
If anyone has any problems or questions then please feel free to reach out here. And I hope if anyone knows anything that would be useful then please comment.
Some of the Social Media sites, notably Polyvore and maybe Wanelo, retain the photo of your listing. When you copy n paste to make a new listing it does not show up on Polyvore, for example, and either says unavailable or links to the shop's profile. It may cause problems on other SM sites either now or in the future.
You can either create a new photo for your listing, switch your photos around, or edit the lead photo in an online editing package.
Wondering if there is a thread where we can post our weekend sales and codes for this big weekend? Maybe so that we can put our SM sales posting so we can reciprocate those?

Hi I am on a mission to improve my photography and have been reading all the Etsy tips on producing good photos. I do use natural light but my camera is an old one (probably due for a new purchase) and sometimes I seem to produce a good photo and other times things go wrong such as colouring, shadows etc.
I have noticed that many people on Etsy have these amazing clear white backgrounds and wonder if it is achieved by using a light box or whether it is good photo editing software. I only have Google Photos at the moment which is limited and as far as I know does not have the capacity to 'white out' a background. If that is indeed possible.
since I rarely able to utilize natural light, I am taking my pics in a completely dark room using homemade "tabletop studio" that I assembled a few years ago. I couldn't find the exact matching components that I've used, so below are the closest options:
Thank you so much for that information COA. I really do need to update my photos.
Your images are beautiful so what you are doing is working. I recently purchased a light box type item and will set that up as soon as I make room in my office. 🙂
I can tell you that I do not have the best lighting situation. I can tell you from my experience (and I know i have some photos to redo!) that if you make your photos in the morning, I find less problems with shadows. That is using natural light from a window. Also, those partly couldy to overcast days are often better than bright sunlight. Clouds are mother natures natural light difusers.
Option on getting rid of shadows irregardless of the weather. You need two lamps, one on each side, then defuse the light with a difuser bought online or thin paper or thin fabric.
Software. Yes, there is software to remove your background, but if your shadow casts across your item, it will not remove that. You would waste too much time in photoshop to correct that. Your best bet is correcting your lighting situation.
Anybody have the faintest idea what this critter is? Face, body and pose of a Scottie, not to mention the little golf cap, but the tail and stripes of a tiger. It's simply stamped Italy on the bottom and is about 2-1/2" tall. There is a P on the front - artist signature maybe???
This is just a word of warning and a suggestion that you check your Twitter feed on a regular basis.
I usually tweet away and don't pay much attention to my feed. Today I just happened to scroll through the feed and found an extremely pornographic movie clip embedded in one of my tweets! I immediately deleted the tweet and changed my password. I also took a look at my apps list and deleted any that I was no longer using. Keep an eye on your Twitter account ladies and gents!
I also had to revoke twitter access from the round team app (the one that re-tweets our tweets). I found that it was sending multiple bogus tweets from "me" advertising the round team services to all my followers. I don't know if this is related to the issue above, but I'm not taking any chances!
