It would be pretty cool if we could make a team facebook page so if anyone knows how then thats fine. I tried making one for myself but it attached itself to my personal page which wasnt really what i wanted!

If we haven't got the page sorted by the beginning of March when I see my IT friend, Rob. I'll see what we can do. I'm hoping to set up my own Facebook page too.

Rob and his wife have Etsy shops but they are craft based, so I can't really ask them to join us.

Hearting, if you get the time then hearting each others items and shops will keep everyones items relevant in the activity list. And reciprocating of course.

You can also heart the treasuries - the treasury itself and the items,

even if they are other teams as it will increase your circulation and have exact same effect as above. And if the treasury hit etsys front page then the repercussions of the high viewing will filter down.

Basically, hearting other shops and their items improves your own chances of selling because many shops understand this and will reciprocate.

My favourites lists become ginormous so I strip them down when I can. i go to the last page and then deheart anything sold or that i dont like anymore. And reheart the rest. This sends everything at the back of my list right round to the front and out in the activity feed where I often see it refavourited several times. A big bonus of this is that the shop that owns that item is often aware that I have done this and then reciprocates. You can cover quite a few items doing this, which as I said above increases your chance of a sale.

So...here we are and ready to make treasuries! For the benefit of any Etsy newbies who may join us here, I am going to talk a bit about making treasuries and how to get them seen!

First off, Treasuries are member curated collections that feature items, photos, pictures relating to a theme of their own choosing. As far as I know, Etsy is the only sales driven platform which offers this option and it is a part of what makes Etsy a community rather than just a place to sell.

Treasuries are ranked by Etsy with an algorythym or mathematical equation referred to by etsy as "Hotness" The following are *some of the factors that algorythym uses:

1. number of views
2. number of favorites
3. number of items favorite
4. number of comments
5. number of clicks (clicks refer to actually clicking through from the treasury item featured to the shop itself, and back again)
6. number of social media used such as 'tweet' 'pin' 'share to facebook or like' and any other links from a social media site to the treasury.
7. number of trending items in the treasury
8. tags used to find the treasury
9. theme of treasury

Hotness is gained in the first two hours after publishing a treasury.

There are other factors as well but those are the main ones. When you make a treasury it is important to be found by folks. Make sure you notify the people/shops you feature and include a link to the treasury. Post that link on your team(s) discussion threads. Use the tweet, facebook and pinterst buttons. Check on Etsy for "today's trending items" to increase your "hotness" levels. Use tags that are trending if at all possible or relevant.

Remember that *Clicks count!* So whenever possible, click twice! Comments also count so if you can - comment twice!

I am really wondering when etsy added the ability to list things other than handmade crafts and supplies I have a rather large collection of Little Golden Books that I would consider offering. Should I make a separate shop for them or list them in with my hand made.??

which treasury - it usually means the item expired. If its your treasury then you can edit it if you wish and add a different item.

http://www.blugrin.com/betsi/lite for bulk altering your listings, tags etc

Off the top of my head - they may a feel a bit quirky to you getting into them, but just ask and I will try to help, but some of it is a bit complex - as in what browser you are using etc

If you aren't keen on making treasuries then a very useful thing to do is to add items from other shops that you think would look great in a treasury. There are many threads open - Art Deco, Mother's Day, rockability, China etc so just add items to the relevan thread. Don't forget to favourite them and any others in there.

It may seem a little pointless as at one level we are only cross promoting. But that self serving activity is seized on by etsy and sent out in the activity feed for all to see, and some to Want. Also the in creased views on our items pushes our shops up the relevancy searches so we have a much greater chance if being seen by a buyer.

The market is slowing however so we need to spend our time wisely and build up our social site networks so that act- end Feb - 5 months! - we are going to be noticed and working our socks off sending items out.

Treasuries are looking GREAT. So much fun especially now that more members have tagged their items "vogueteam".

I am visiting threads and want to encourage others to as well so we can promote each other and be seen. I see lots of fun threads like the wedding thread, alphabet soup, etc.!
