Hello Everyone, I was just accepted to this team and I am excited! I am Gina Marie and my shop is Vamps Vintage. I live in Texas with my husband Richard. My shop sells mainly Vintage Jewelry and a small amount of Collectibles.
I see there is a flurry of activity here and I need a bit to become acclimated.
May I get suggestions as to the threads I should concentrate on first?
I received several wonderful convos from leaders with links to blitzes and viewathons and social media threads for the team. I need a starting point please.
I know quite a number of people on this team, great sellers, and I look forward to getting to know many more members. Thank you for having me.
@Andrea~~I had no idea sweetheart. I know what an insidious disease Lupus is because my father has Lupus. I am thinking of you and praying for you, we share a crazy sense of humor, try to hold on to it.
I am a night owl and late tonight I will put in a collect call to God, when he is not so busy and make requests on your behalf. Can you believe he watches those middle of the night infomercials, lately he's partial to Keith Urban"s Guitar infomercial!!! I am just partial to Keith Urban!
Dear Team, After all the wonderful attention you gave me and my shop on Monday I feel guilty in saying that I am leaving town later today and will be gone for several days so not able to reciprocate. When I return I will get on it with a vengence!
Thank you all again for all the love! See you soon!
Hey Gina! Welcome to the team! Look forward to working with you once again! The threads I tend towards are those which I can wrap my head around! If you 'get' the various social media threads (I dont seem able to do much beyond pinterest and facebook on my ancient laptop) then Id recommend those. The blitzes are really cool as you get tons of exposure that way - as long as you can commit to the time and effort to reciprocate fully... I personally love the post three, heart all "daily" views threads...either of the ones are great. Whatever you choose - one thing is clear - you've chosen an incredibly dynamic team that has tons of great ideas. I always say, you get what you put in - but on this team I feel like I get it times 3! Cheers!
just wanted to stop in and say hi --somehow I missed this thread entirely! I zoom in on all of the promotional and SM threads like an B52 on a mission --sometimes I miss the little corner streets and back woods paths where things are jammin'
I love chit chat threads -- I never knew about WD40 and jewelry cleaning! Who'd athunk! 🙂 I have spent hours working on verdigris with toothpicks -- or using rubbing alcohol -- which doesn't work very well.
I have to run but just wanted to say hi! Marlo -- welcome!! Hope you are recovered from the surgery you had a while back! 4
I would really like to see more attention to the view-a-thon. When I run out of hearts view a thons are a great way to continue your promoting until your hearts come back. it would also be great if we used the "short link" for the view-a-thon which makes it appear as an organic or outside view versus a team.
I am always surprised how little the thread is used, since it is the organic heart that contributes to relevancy. It takes a bit more, but if that is the case, so worth it! I don't know what short link is, Donna, if you could please explain. Thank you!!
Actually, although I haven't been to the view-a-thon (hiding head), I'd prefer to view rather than heart. Just hold down the control key and opening the boxes is faster for me than hearting.
To be honest, I never even knew this team had a chat thread. Yipee! I think it makes Etsy life a little better when you can chat with others.
For those who have not heard my story, I've been out of the Etsy loop for the last few weeks and will be AWOL for a few days starting on Wednesday. I've been spending my free time training. I'm running in a relay that starts in Miami on Friday morning at 5 am and ends in Key West on Saturday at 5pm (give or take). 500 teams, 36 hours, 200 miles, 12 teammates, 2 vans, sunshine, and cold beer at the end. I've been training hard and am as ready as this old body will ever be. Think of me at midnight on Saturday as I run along Route 1 in Key Largo - that's my longest and hardest leg.
I have a question about the Vintage Vogue Daily Digest. IS this supposed to be received every day? I only seem to receive it a few times a week. Is there something, I need to do?
Race was a once in a lifetime experience - You really only need to do this craziness once!
My training paid off - my body felt strong every leg I ran.
I had a great team, and we got along wonderfully. Ages ranged from 30-60 in our van. So many stories and memories!
If you have a bawdy sense of humor, and don't give a crap about being PC among friends, I suggest you play the game Cards Against Humanity. It surely made the 36 hours in the van fly by!!
Oh dear....etsy has just made major category changes, it's not pretty.
In the old category system "Vintage" and "Craft Supplies" were top level categories. They are no longer categories. Handmade, Vintage, and Craft Supplies now share the exact same categories. Our goal is to allow a buyer to see everything in a category (regardless of Vintage vs Handmade). So if a buyer wants a dress they can now go to dresses and see both Vintage and Handmade items.
