August Treasury Challenge

Anime Challenge. I'm not sure how many of you are aware of the steampunk influence on animes and manga. This challenge will get you to explore how the genre you've come to love is prevalent in Japanese culture. Base a treasury off of an Asian steampunk series, film, novel, or manga. I highly recommend actually watching a movie if you have access to one as it will be a fantastic experience, but a simple google image search will provide you with enough influence to create a treasury.

If you don't know where to start, I highly recommend the following movies from Studio Ghibli:

Tales From Earthsea, Howl's Moving Castle, Laputa: Castle in the Sky, The Cat Returns, and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Manga Series: Fullmetal Alchemist, Steam Detectives, and Strait Jacket

Deadline is August 31st and 1st place gets 2 (free!) one-inch brass clock gears, or 4 team points.

I loved meeting all the steampunk anime cosplayers who braved the shuttle bus from the convention center to visit the dealers room at Clockwork Alchemy! They were so enthusiastic and full of fun.
