Nothing in Particular Thread

It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

elizabeth, take this to the media. etsy is doing nothing. maybe contact e-coomerce bytes or something and let them investigate this. if it can happen to you it could happen to others, during holiday season. this can't wait. i understand beatrice's fear. she is in france and can't make a bunch of calls to here. but etsy in in nyc so maybe find who you report businesses to so this actually gets escalated to the top execs not phone help in ootermongolegypafrichina!

Elizabeth...maybe it IS time to get a little more demanding with Beatrice. Tell her to absolutely log out of anything affiliated with your shop. It's one thing to be a good sport and an understanding person. It's quite another when a reasonable request to possibly solve a problem be ignored.

Yes Mary and SIl, I hear you both. Now that we think things will be resolved for me if she logs out and can't log back in, this shifts a bit. We're no longer both innocent bystanders. I will tell her that I'll need to call support every day to see if anyone has logged into my account from any IP addresses other than mine (just in case anyone else may also have access that I'm not aware of). What would help immensely is Etsy getting her own shop back open!!! 4 days now she is locked out though her shop is fully open for business. She can't even go into vaca mode... If she logs into her shop- she is out of mine for good (I think). I will go the extra yard tomorrow and call support for her again.

elizabeth, somebody has to get the great and powerful ets behind the curtain to go behind the scenes on the backend to fix this. if they can tweak interfaces any time they please then they beaverdam well should be able to go and fix both shops! keep making noise, lots and lots of noise. good luck. and i'm still sorry. hugs.

Good news at last! As of this morning (Saturday) Beatrice has her shop back, so is logged out of my account at long last! It better stay this way.... Thanks for everyone's support and kindness through this mess!

no, but it is understandable. she is in a foreign country locked out of her own shop and can't even put her shop on vacation nor fill orders she might be getting. she is afraid. europe has far better privacy than we do, and stricter laws protecting people. but she also is obligated to her buyers so i hope she, and elizabeth too both have no outstanding orders right now. it being the weekend in a few hours this is going to be harder to get help i suspect. media may be the only way. maybe posting to etsy's media sites so it has to get seen by a lot of people.

i just feel bad it happened, people. i'd be freaked if i were either of them, honestly.

 I would appreciate it if the two of you would take this as a joke.   The word was used - media and so to enlarge upon this, file a complaint against E by calling the BBB or  you know the Cuomo Brothers would love a bit of give and take with E.   Remember please that I am just kidding.

@vlmkpyae I've had orders every day, and am packing and shipping as usual. This hasn't affected my functionality except the overnight that I was locked out a couple of days ago. She's not functional at all, and there is no help in French. She's getting responses from people in finance??? She does forward me her attempts at help. 

I did just write Beatrice, even though she's asleep, asking her one more time to log out and try logging in. I did tell her Etsy would be checking for IP logins other than mine for my own security. And also telling her I'll call yet again to more forcefully request that she gets back into her own flipping' account!! That will get me off their back. I did look at her shop Sil, and it looks like she does have two more orders after mine.

elizabeth, can you forward her the info of her orders so she can at least fulfill them while stuck like this? she should be awake in a few hours. france should be 6 hours later than east coast.

Happy dance! Glad it's over. So did anyone figure out how it happened and how to avoid it in the future?

I buy things from other sellers so wondering if it could happen to others as well?

Love this @Lionfishvintage ! They did figure it out, and I highly doubt it will happen again. I wouldn't worry about buying from other sellers. I'm not going to be if that helps at all :)) The whole story had so many layers to it! It sounded like they really had been working on it hard! If only someone had let me know, I'd have had a few more hours of sleep and a lot less anxiety. The absence of communication bothered me the most. I do hope they work on that.

Yay!! Finally. It must be such a relief to have that fixed, especially with holiday sales just kicking in. Hopefully all will be good moving forward and it won't happen again... to anyone!

OMG...I was laughing out loud! Night Court. I sooo remember watching every episode and then the reruns. Seems like a million years ago! My hair was brown without gray roots then.

Yes, a lifelong Trekkie. I hope as my brain has more and more hiccups via aging that I will always relate to being a Trekkie!

Yes, back in the early 80's. At that time the Trekkie conventions were just really getting started so it was not nearly as big/popular as they have become.

I went as Spock (or Spockett). I made the  ears...out of Silly Putty! By the time I left the ears had been adjusted and changed shape so much that I looked like a dog with floppy ears! Not my proudest moment. Sure glad I don't have a pic of that mess!
