It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

Thoughts?

here is a new one. item shows in just listed. i heart it and ask seller a question. a little while later i get, 'i'm sorry. it sold on another site.' what? but it was just listed! i said congratulations but that's the danger of double listing. she said she saw others on ebay charging more...

what if i would have ordered and not asked a question? isn't doing what she did, deliberating listing something as new listing here and on ebay just begging for bad feedback from phantom sales? i'm glad i did not order! how common is this practice? don't you fear the upset of a buyer who bought your sold item while you were sleeping? i know i would!

I have heard others in the forums complain about the same thing happening to them.  It is just a sketchy to list on multiple platforms to see where you can get the best price.

@vlmkpyae it makes me wish for a dislike button instead of a heart button to mark the shop as untrustworthy.

mila, it is someone who mostly sells digital so theycan always be re downloaded. it's not a king solomon has to divide the vintage baby situation. my guess is she wasn't thinking. she turns out to be very friendly and a person who repairs antiques, and has a houseful of rescued cats. you never know who you are going to meet on etsy just like it was on ebay years ago on the boards and groups they used to have.

@vlmkpyaeWell, somewhere in internet I read the flu virus lives up to two weeks on paper bills -money. Coins, bills and plastic cards are germs, bacteria and virus easy transport. And kids, do not put your bills in the microwave to disinfect

DO NOT      DO NOT    DO NOT

i agree about microwave!

as far as 2 weeks well, if it was on the internet it must be true. seriously, i don't know. but i don't see the mints getting shut down over this. people will still use cash. banks will still have cash. stores will still have to give back change in cash/coins.

you can  decide for yourself if you think there is a risk.

Just wash your hands after handling. It's as simple as that. And don't touch your face...

I think you can disinfect metal coins with lysol or bleach & credit cards with hand sanitizer and / or spray.

i was thinking, if ana or anyone is that worried about coins there are also metal keys, doorknobs, door knockers, all sorts of metal everyday objects she and others are suddenly going to be worried about.

@vlmkpyaeGood morning:   Dear, even before the pandemic, I was a cleaning/disinfecting maniac with desks, door knobs, light switches, cords and plugs, keys, handrails, steering wheels, computer mouse, keyboard and switch (in the 70s and 80s you had to turn on the computers by a switch), TV and radio switches.  Well, you name it -them.

Decades ago, one of my sons did a funny sign, "Germs if you come to this house my mother are going to kill you."

Seriously, seriously.  Decades ago, a college class mate's husband used a small pot to boil the coins and hand washed the bills.

This is the most random thing- I just saw a plane fly by, and actually can't remember the last time I saw a plane in the sky!

When I hear people talk about cleaning surfaces to avoid the virus, I rarely hear anything about cell phones.  I see people at the grocery store answer their phones, stick them to their face and ear, then go right back to pushing their carts and handling products on the shelf.  I've always heard that these phones are some of the dirtiest, germ-filled items we own but I never hear anyone say they constantly clean them, or use hand sanitizer before answering them or hanging up.  Just a thought.

Dear, in some videos about how to shop nowadays, there is the advice to leave the telephone at home. Decades ago, when we were young and gorgeous in high school... we did a survey about sanitizing and cleaning highly used surfaces like the door knobs, telephones (land line), handrails, desks, so  on.  Surprise, back in the 50s, people did not clean / sanitize as they should...

This has absolutely nothing to do with the above articles.

I could not log in to Etsy all morning. They kept saying they were having "Issues". .... I checked Down Sites and Etsy was down in many places.

What???...sun spots????

@Collected. Been logged in since early morning. A couple hours ago I couldn't get to Dashboard. 'A stitch awry' and 'try again later' was showing up. It was down only an hour. Does this latest glitch surprise anyone???

@Collected. Not you in particular surprised, but anyone who has a shop here. Sooo many glitches and majority just don't get fixed right away or at all. So da** frustrating. After 7 years you'd think I'd get used to it. But now just a bit accustomed to something wrong on a regular basis here. Good grief.

Not surprised. I expect it every day. Today I noticed that the new section that had forcibly put in my shop " New items in shop" or whatever it was called, is gone.

But I don't trust them. Haven't for a long time.

Every new listing I had within the last 30 days had " unknown processing ( shipping) times" when i ALWAYS click on 1-3 days.

I sent support an email about it.

I check and recheck every single day now to make sure it reads 1-3 days processing.

And guess what? 1 that i had to change 2 days ago , reverted BACK to unknown.

Beware and check your listings...

@Lion. I've had probs with the processing times also. I just got tired of checking my listings. I finally just decided that if a potential buyer wanted to know processing time they will convo me.

I also had the 'New items in shop' included in my Section. It is gone now too.

I swear these tech guys must feel the pressure from the big boys to 'stay busy' . So they just keep the keyboard keys clacking and hope something surfaces and then goes 'eeny meeny minee mo' on whose shop they'll try it out on.
