It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular. It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.
You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.
Thoughts?
Yikes! You definitely have my pity. I hate taking out stitches. And the older I get, the harder they are to see, which makes the process even more of a chore. :-/
I think it's become a way of life at this point.... Glasses!! ha
Thanks so much DaniBreen! You're so kind. Went to your shop also and fell in love with your bags. I stick to Tote bags for the knitters mostly plus novelty quilting stuff. Looks like you put a lot of love into your bags. Sooo enjoy sewing for the holidays every year. And yes, I do have fun doing it!
eeek. good luck, heidi. i do not envy you.
I survived it! In front of the tv. To make matters worse, the stitch length on my sewing machine misbehaves, so most of the 66 inches was teeny tiny practically microscopic stitches.
When that last stitch comes out, I always do a fist pump and say "Yessss!!" :-)
I'm the MOST thrilled when I think I have a foot left to go and I see it's only an inch!!!
everyone must be very busy. i'll take that as a good thing.
Hey Sil. VERY busy indeed! Trying to keep up with it all. This has got to be the busiest Season I've had in 6 years. And now the Cyber Sale started today. This week ought to be beneficial for all our shops! later girl, mary
@SewNSewSister Good to hear that you are doing well, happy for you. Quiet here, I'm taking a step back today, nothing is happening anyway.
please check your convos, mary. and good luck.
I see you Sil. A few things came up last night and just getting started for the day. Be with you shortly girl. :)
It's cold, I'm wearing a puffa jacket at home, the heating is just rubbish = \
It's been raining all day today too.
Hope everyone is good.
Where is plum plum =O . Hope she is doing ok.
art, stay bundled. i suspect pigeon is cold. it is much colder than normal with less rain for now. it is painful. rain is due but not getting here, and we are supposed to have king tides.
@vlmkpyae You take care too, hope weather gets better soon.
art, yesterday the power went out in the daytime and stayed out 14 hours until 4:30 am with 30 f wind chill, gale force winds with rain and hail, dark, no lights, no heat, no internet, no phone, just waiting... it is 6pm tonight and the place has still not warmed up that much. it is 37 f wind chill now, no storm. heater went wonky during the outage and now it cuts out at random times. i found a heater on amazon with humidifier but it can't get here until monday. shadow is asleep so i did not order it yet. it is expensive. ;(
i don't think we lost any food, hopefully. i bet it was too cold!
@vlmkpyae oh no = { I remember years ago it happened here on a very cold day, no electricity no heating no light, it was snowing and I went home early sick too. I still remember how I felt that day, it was getting dark and even colder at night.
I have a portable electric panel heater that I now use almost every evening, the Economy 7 wall heaters are quite useless, very restricted setting that is incredibly not flexible. The portable electric panel heater is like an add on that I can keep close to where I sit to keep me warm. It's good but I worry about the electricity bill, I try to not have it on too long.
I had to buy a humidifier at my last place, sold it when I moved out of there.
Get the electric heater Sill, it will help.
art, i ordered it last night. due monday. likely after the cold snap has passed, of course.
@vlmkpyae I'm sorry you have to struggle through the weekend = ( Hang in there, it will get better soon with the extra heater x
@vlmkpyae How is the new heater? Is it keeping you warm?
It is suppose to get down to 51F on Friday and raining. That is extremely cold daytime temps for this area and the rain usually doesn't start quite this early. I hope it isn't part of a trend that's going to come along this winter (although downright tropical compared to most of the mainland U.S.).
Haven't been here for a Loooong time ….. but Happy Thanksgiving Day to all !!!
Making some food to bring … / but overall " freeloading " at my Sister's house !
Will cook my own Turkey on Saturday ….. because I want my own leftovers LOL !!!
@MelsMix Leftovers are the best!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
We've doing something different this year and having stuffed Cornish game hens (it's just myself and hubs, no need for a huge turkey). Steamed mixed veggies, mixed brown and wild rice, and homemade pumpkin pie for dessert. I have a nice pumpkin pie recipe made with fresh gingerroot. It's very light. I call it the pumpkin pie for pumpkin-pie haters.
Shouting out a HAPPY TURKEY DAY to all my fellow Peeps here...and the World!
Be thankful for all that makes you smile, giggle and laugh out loud!
