It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular. It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.
You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.
Thoughts?
@vlmkpyae Maybe they are building a portal into another world.
the handymen? lol. i start to wonder! at least it is quiet today. they don't work weekends unless it is active water damage from a leak. even then they'd come, shut it off, and say wait until monday. ;) this is the number 1 tourist time for our area. we are the only stupid county to allow public fireworks for many miles because smarter counties don't. so all the yahoos come here for july 4th... reno. work is not going to be happening right now...
Hey, I didn't realize this thread was still going! Hello, people!!! :)
hi, juliet. we pinned it some time ago. :)
Good morning everyone. I'm off to have lunch with the off spring later today. My favourite pub, lots of food. Diet starts tomorrow. They do puddings that are out of this world. The old fashion ones, like Knickerbocker Glory, Ginger sponge and custard. I might have to have two, I can never make my mind up which to have.
Oh pub food is gooooood, almost said puuuuub foooooooood in Homer Simpson's voice there LOL
Ginger sponge and custard... I soooooo want that now
@Teddyrose54 Puddings are the whole point of eating out, you should definitely have two!
that is pretty, but this team is not for advertizing, sorry. i have to pull that post.
above post was about a spammer i deleted.
I miss so much 'good' stuff going on here. I try to 'stay in the loop' as often as I can. Some days are better than others.
As a Seller I just spent the entire weekend on my shop. As most Sellers know, views/visits/sales are WAY down. We are all scrambling to keep our shops as up to date and enticing as possible. It is work. It is eye strain. It is fingers crossed that it's all gonna be worth it. I mainly just wanted to say 'THANK YOU' to all that purchase from our shops and support our efforts to make that little bit of money that means so much to us. You are ALL very much appreciated.
I hope this won't be considered as spam (it's not meant to be viewed as such). It's a Thank You for all the support.
By the way, I've never been to a pub. I've only seen them on TV. I'm reminded of the TV show Cheers! Are they like that?
you just got an order. ;) i have been to 2 pubs. one was in england, in oxfordshire in 1978. it was like all creatures great and small type atmosphere. there was a sheepdog by the hearth with a fire going. next to the dog, i kid you not, was a fluffy sheep, lying peacefully on the same rug in front of the fire. yes, that kind of rural... :) think a british version of cheers. ;)
pub 2 was a pseudo english pub in santa rosa when i was in college. it was called the english rose. it had decent food. it was more a restaurant than true pub. it was next to the refectory, a restaurant/bar that had been... a refectory. fun place. went there for dancing more than food. :)
@Sil. I thank you for your visit Sil! Just sent you some info and be expecting a few 'goodies' soon. Thank you.
I always thought a Pub was a England thing brought here. Better than any night clubs. Kinda that Homey feel and not so much about getting drunk as a skunk! I like your description of them. Now I feel like I've missed out on something during my wild years of living life to the fullest. Dang!!!
@SewNSewSister I've been working on my listings on both here and eBay too, keeping an eye on traffic and trying to figure out what, how and where I need to work on to make it work. Eye strain is right, my eyes have been sore, from all the staring at the screen. It's hard work isn't it, I don't mind if it can make things work but views are way down. If we are invisible then we are just buried, no views no traffic no sales.
Pub food is usually good, like homecooking and atmosphere can be nice. It's good now that smoking is not allowed in most public places.
I asked over in the regular forum too, but is anyone doing Christmas in July sales this year? I know it used to be a really popular thing on here in the past, but I haven't heard anything this year really. Maybe it's because they don't allow chit chat anymore. I started one just to see what happens.
Personally I like to keep an eye out for things for Christmas and birthdays all year long because it seems like I get better deals that way.
@Former_Member. I tried a Christmas in July sale past couple years. I did ok. I understand why a lot of Sellers don't like to have them...they lose money because they usually have to be marked down to sell in July. So it's a double edged sword really. To me, if it brings more people to my shop maybe they'll see what else I have to offer besides Christmas items, so I will probably do it again this year.
And you're right...there hasn't been much said in the forums about Christmas in July. Wonder why?
I marked my Christmas items with the CIJ sale tags, I didn't do it for the whole shop, but the sale does apply to the whole shop. So hopefully someone will be interested. Glad to hear it helped in the past.
I'm totally with you on that one. I favourite time to buy old Christmas things isn't at Christmas!
I'm a deal seeker too. Boy! People just hate it when I dicker. But, I'm good at it and I looooove it. :)
@SewNSewSister . i just remembered, the other pub in england was in hamstead heath, a neat little neighborhood in london, when i went with my mother via train from where she was living in reading when i was visiting her, my only trip to england. that pub made welsh rabbit, which is not peter cottontail it's just glorified beer battered grilled cheese i remember was really good. it was a great outing but i picked up something in all the soot in the air around the area where the outdoor markets were, think my fair lady only in 1978 with safety pin eared punk rockers and such instead of victorian barkers. i was deathly ill for months and it rained every single day afterwards but i did enjoy that day. they explained it was, 'rabbit', actually rare bit, because a long time ago, somewhere in britain, maybe wales, a hunter had bad luck one time and his wife had to make due with what she had in her larder. bread, hard cheese, herbs and beer. he asked what could there be for dinner and she said, 'here's ya rabbit, love', or similar, and he enjoyed it. now this was told to me by a rather inebriated pub person so take it as you will, but i love the story and it's a good meal.
@Former_Member. You make me laugh with the little scenario of the wife and husband! Beer battered grill cheese...I would try that even though I'm not much of a beer drinker. Your experience in a pub sounds wonderful! Like I said, wish I would have had the opportunity to go to one.
Interesting meal interesting story and you remember the day like it was yesterday, some memories stay with us for a long time, like snapshots. I was missing my mum too just earlier today, I saw a dandelion outside and my mind flashed right back to a moment when I was pointing at a dandelion with mum taking a picture of me.
@Artbesico . i'm late leaving feedback! need to go do that...
Thank you so much Sill, I really appreciate it, it made my day =]
convos are hit and miss today! good thing i had to check up on orders because i only got notified about one convo when there were 2. remember seller 2? she relisted without any shipping! i never asked for free shipping, i had only said i didn't need the box so it wouldn't cost her as much to ship, the free shipping was her idea. wow. for contrast, remember cranky seller 1? not only did she relist without reserving she raised her price without warning, to almost double of what she had listed for last month. wow... no hearts there. i'm so glad seller 2 had the same item! whew.
I think all Etsy emails are hit and miss today. I have printed a label and usually get en email immediately--not, my money has gone to the bank--no email but the transfer has taken place. As someone said somewhere--maybe they are overwhelmed today with lots of the regualrs at etsy on vacation! :-)
