These are heavy , vintage shakers. Have searched all over net and can't figure out what 9006 is.
Silver plate? Pewter?
On the bottom is stamped " Wallace 9006"
I don't think they're sterling. Too heavy.
Any help would be most welcome.
Thanks
Interesting! This is all I could find. Wish I could be of more help.
Thanks! Yes that links helps alot 1 post on this forum asked the same question as myself.
1 answer said it was electroplate( silver plated) on cast base metal - most likely mid 20th century.
So I think that's what it is!
I just checked " wallace pewter" and they are clearly marked pewter.
Cool! I'm glad it helped.
I also thought it was really interesting when somebody mentioned specific gravity testing, and they linked to another discussion about how to do that.
I love learning new things!
Have a great day!
Lion- First of all, I like your new avi!
i pulled up Google and was amazed how much info they have on Wallace silverware. You might want to check them out. As you know, quadruple plate is very heavy - especially vintage. Good luck!
Oh you mean my lion head? ha ha
I'm obsessed with lions.
Thanks for the info.
Hope you are well !
