OMG.. sellers need to be very careful of what they are making and selling. especially for babies. how tragic! he was a doll.

This is so bad of Etsy as it's making the entire site look bad in my opinion.

I agree. A screw on clasp is not a safe clasp for young children. It's common sense, IMO.

there is a thread on this on the main fora. most of us agree that you don't give things like that to a baby or toddler and the daycare is to blame for being overcrowded and the parents for putting it on him and the friend for giving it and, and... it was a tragedy that needs to not be repeated. as i said on that thread, even vintage doll sellers will warn that their dolls are not toys to be given to small children and we are talking mid century dolls.

teething bracelets are one thing but necklaces, no, too dangerous. this was a preventable tragedy. r.i.p.

This did happen in 2016 but the case hasn't been resolved yet.  Sometimes these things go on for years.  I once sat on a jury where a child had been injured in a park.  The child was two years-old when it happened but the trial didn't take place until he was thirteen --  eleven years later.

because it can take years for cases to get to court in this country.

Etsy really tossed this seller right under the bus... They said " we are not liable.. Maybe the daycare... Or the seller.. Yea thats it.. The seller!".. Not that money would heal the mother but let her get a few bucks.. Feel justice..... Buy some nice to ease her pain... Its a start.. Etsy can think of it as charity.. Its no big deal like 100,000...but its a lot for this mom.. If i was etsy there would never been court... Im offering it. It cant brong the baby back but sometimes people need that win
