Covid-19 Support Community

Seems to me that we could use a forum area where we can go to support each other during this global emergency. Possibly calm our fears and offer emotional support and share ideas on how we are each coping. If you choose to participate I can only hope that we will all refrain from sharing unfounded/unsupported information and even provide on-line resources/examples that have historically proven honest and sound... such as, for example, the Public Broadcasting System (PBS) etc. Just thinking out loud here. I need to talk about this sometimes and talking with folks around the world who are "like minded" would be so very valuable. 

My current concern is the lack of physical connection to other humans. We are very social animals and when we are truly alone it is crucial that we recognize that the lack of physical contact can be detrimental to our mental and emotional health. This can compromise our physical health too. Oh dear; here I go finding something more to worry about...

Ouch, gee wee, like the virus is not enough for breathing problems, now the smokes complicates some health issues too...

Yes ~ I have a friend who lives in Sacramento. She says she can't take her evening walks anymore because the smoke makes it hard for her to breathe.

Between Covid and the fires (most of my family is in the west and northwest) and politics in general and now this thing about veterans being losers....my mind is blown. 2020 is kicking serious behind all over the place. I'm feeling too many things at once - and still have to get along in regular life. Which 2020 is playing around with, too. 

This has certainly got to be the bottom, right? No place to go but up after this.

well, bev, no stimulus yet but at least they agreed not to shut down the country before september 30th. small miracles. 

what's this about veterans? the polis make big fusses over veterans and the military all the time, don't they? in a competition of who can claim to be most patriotic... what happened? 

yes, the fires are awful.

...when we thought WWII was the end of the world, when we thought Korea and Vietnam wars would destroy the planet, when we thought  the hippies corrupted the youth minds, when  the cold war was a threat, when the sexual liberation in the 70s were considered the worst immoral happening... here comes 2020.

Oh boy... e-mails from my daughters.  How is the Halloween going to be this year?  Conclusion.  In order to keep the social distance, put assorted candies on plastic bags and sealed. Put the bags on a table, on the garden at the edge of the sidewalk. Put a huge sign, "For the kids, not for the squirrels."

Do any of you have a son or daughter who is away at college? I have a Grandson who is in his senior year at the university and I can tell you, I am worried sick about him being there.

Great grand kids and grand kids online students. Years ago, I told them how cheaper and convenience it's to take online classes than attend the regular traditional classes.

psa. germany can now ship packages to the us again! i know because my order placed may 30th has finally shipped, literally as soon as my german seller told me it would be allowed. yay. good sign.

@vlmkpyaegerman post sends again since a few days via ship. But there are and have been other ways. For small parcels he could use transglobalexpress.com. They fly cargo at low price and handle over to usps. Shipment is 10 days around. For large parcels the seller could have contacted helpfull fellow sellers in local forums with a fedex contract offering load by. This is a lazy seller you came across.

hi, paper. thanks. he said that he had investigated every week and other shippers would have cost more that i already paid, like double. he had told me i could cancel and be refunded as far back as june. it was my choice to wait. my only concern right now is the tracking number etsy has on the order shipping info gets me errors on the german postal site. i imputed it as 18/09/2020. isn't that the way it wants? i tried other dates but it keeps saying the equivalent of can't find.

do you have any guess?

i gave up, googled, and used postal ninja's website. it found it! processed the 22nd in germany. it is not lost. i'm guessing next is customs? germany is processing packages coming to the us faster than england is.

Last week, I watched a Youtube video  which showed about people doing good things for the humanity. Some of the comments were "those actions are not published in the news."  True, good actions, good news are not popular in the news.  I "googolized" about a female doctor who is being working very hard to discover a cure and vaccinations against the virus in fashion. OH... Spain is being working like crazy to discover an effective vaccine. Sorry, I new about it in a Youtube video and not in the news...
