Each Saturday, Old Time Etsy brings you Saturday Night Specials (SNS). Find great deals on quality handmade, vintage, and supplies, and have fun too! All Etsy sellers are invited to participate. Captains reserve the right to delete any threads or posts which do not follow the rules. SNS Rules and FAQ's (Frequently Asked Questions) revised 10/2009, small revisions 2/2011. WHAT IS THE SNS? The Saturday Night Specials (SNS) is an organized promo thread that was originated by Willowglass in July 2006 so that Etsy sellers could kick back on a Saturday night and hopefully gain some sales as a result. Each participating seller decides the special for their shop, whether it be a percentage off, free shipping, BOGO, or whatever the seller chooses. WHAT TIME DOES THE SNS START? Each Saturday the thread is started at 5 p.m. EST/Etsy time by a member of the SNS host team. To make it a true Saturday Night Special, your specials must be limited to Saturday night. The SNS runs from 5 p.m. EST/Etsy time and *must* officially end at midnight Samoa time (which is 6 a.m. EST/Etsy time on Sunday). You can choose to end your SNS earlier in a different time zone if you wish. WHAT DO I NEED TO DO? * Post a notice in your Shop Announcement section to ensure that buyers will know what your SNS is. * End your SNS no later than 6 a.m. EST/Etsy time on Sunday. * Buyers have repeatedly asked for a consistent format, so it's suggested that you start your post with your shop link, what you sell, and then what your special is for the night. Buyers have also asked that the thread be as clean and streamlined as possible, so please don't use special character fonts or any unnecessary "bells and whistles". The easier that sellers make the thread to maneuver around, the better potential for sales. If you are including a picture in your post, you are limited to ONE picture. * Post only to the Official SNS thread. * There is no recapping (repostings) of your SNS. This is necessary to keep the thread as streamlined as possible for buyers and is at their request, so please make sure you have all your info together before posting. ** Sellers who do not follow the simple rules in place will be removed from the team. Sorry if this seems harsh, but after all we're not forum police, just volunteers who have been running this thread for 5 years! a very reasonable time frame of non-participation for over 60 days will be adequate to show disinterest in this team and cause for removal.

Who can join?

The Saturday Night Special Team is open to every seller and buyer on Etsy. Please post your specials on the Saturday Night Specials thread only. Thread begins at 5 pm every Saturday; one of the captains or leaders will post a thread to begin the specials, so please wait for that thread before posting your special. Your SNS must end by 6 a.m. EST time on Sunday. There is no recapping (reposting) of specials. Please use suggested format at the request of our many buyers; keep your post as streamlined as possible and no special character fonts please! This includes posting of photos; please limit yourself to ONE photo or your post will be removed. Deliberate spamming of threads will be cause for removal from this team which is staffed by volunteers. Please remember that this is a team and you will only get out of it what you put into it!
