'Bopa' here under another guise.
Thought I'd get a general chat thread rolling ... while we wait for the 'big chop'.
Shall we get our knitting needles out - like the women who surrounded the guillotine?! (seems very etsyesque!)
Hmmmmmm interesting, I've no intentino of paying a bucket load of money to a company to be told I can't use the sites that are working for me at the mo. I'm going to keep looking and thinking, it's still £500 and I don't have that sort of money at the mo, or anywhere close to it!
@Brenda I'm sure you are correct. I know lots of the Folksy sellers have joined up to NOTHS. It is expensive to join and to run. Having said that they do promote their sellers well and want them to succeed. I find it really annoying to find their stuff promoted when I'm checking my emails. Even worse when you know the sellers stuff too.
Hello my Welshies!! I am back in the homeland for a couple of months! Been back about 10days now and have just had my first 'rummage' in the sale section of Hobbycraft!
Welcome home Sadie! You came back in time to experience the best of our weather. Odds on for snow tomorrow. Sorry Brenda. With a bit of luck it will stay on the mountains. I like to see it from a distance.
Evening all...welcome home Sadie. Snow???? I hope not, got too much going on at the moment to have snow!!!
It's so quiet on here ..... we are thinking of putting a notice that no new orders will be processed until the 3rd January, just to give us a bit of a break and enjoy Christmas! This is our first Christmas on here so not sure what everyone does!!
Anyway, had a lovely meal this evening with Laura, her husband and the new puppy, Heidi. Loved watching my two dogs playing with the puppy, adorable. Now I'm just clearing it all up and want my bed. Nice hot water bottle awaits and sleep.....
Yep I've just put up a last orders notice on my shop facebook twitter blog etc. Time to start wrappping it up till after Christmas, but worried I'm shooting myself in the foot! What are the rest of you doing?
I emailed the not on the high st people back saying I was interested but don't have that sort of money at the mo so can they keep me informed of any special deals they have. I'll think about it for a while.
well, we have stayed SNOW FREE so far.....a miracle....lol...all around us is getting snow but despite being high up, we have escaped...... I will be here all through Christmas.....Isold an item on Christmas day last year...some people out there are bored or lonely so come online. Karen...I actually hate food....I'd be just as happy to swallow a pill,. as long as it was chocolate flavoured...lol... Welcome Homes Sadie, hope the weather hasn't affected your travels.
I love chocolate too :) always need plenty of that! I hope you still have not had snow I saw on my FB that there had been some snow in the west country (my brother lives there) this is when I love being in Florida we still have 25 degree weather here. Sorry if you all want to kill me right now lol
I am having a busy day done lots of running around & now off to the gym *what am I thinking? I may just end up killing myself save you all the job hahaha
Good morning all....early start this morning as we went to 8 o'clock Church for a change...family coming for lunch so we needed the time! It's freezing here, I just can't get warm. Hopefully when I take the dogs out for a walk I will feel better. Decided to keep the shop open for sales of Ready To Ship things, but no new orders will be dealt with until after the 1st Jan...think that's the best thing for us to do, we'll see!!
Keeping open too. I'm still dealing with the work I've got on at the moment. I've got to finish presents for family today because it's just dawned on me that this time next week is the big day. Talk about burying you head in the sand! Icy here too so it's a good excuse to stay in.
I stay open as well. I had a sale on Christmas day last year. There are people who are lonely and the pc is their friend....... Karen, we escaped without any snow or ice...very lucky considering we are high up and we often get snow when down below is getting rain...phew...... I think we should all come and live with you for the winter......lol
How is everyone today? It's warmer but murky and not my favourite weather. Since I went to London and got stuck on a bus during rush hour my chest has been really tight. Thanks goodness I had my inhaler with me. I can understand how people died during the smog years. It's the sort of air that you can cut with a knife.
I might head for the beach today and get some sea air.
I'm on my hols! and its great! If I get any orders for ready made stuff I'll post it and yesterday was spent partly having a mini photoshoot with the help of some friends but wOw I needed a break!
Hope you're feeling better Cat, I hate smog and dirt, I don't have asthma or anything but it still gets me. I have a friend living in Beijing and I don't know how she does it and I keep putting off her invites to visit. Air should be clean!
Yipee ... Santa came early and I now have my new computer!! It will make keeping in touch with you all so much easier. Welcome back Sadie ... just in time for Christmas ... and all the freezing temperatures! I took a look at your shop Sarah-Jane. You have some stunning items. What a pity I'm not buying for me at the moment!! Most years, I do buy myself a present - I'm a great believer in spoiling yourself at Christmas (that way, you can be sure to have at least one present on Christmas Day that you absolutely love!) - but we have had a lot of expense this year (what with computer failures and all that malarkey) so I will be giving it a miss.
I will be staying open over Christmas too. I don't make items to order - and don't go away over the holidays - so it's that much easier. As I sell patterns and such like, I often find that people buy over Christmas. There must be something about having a few days away from the daily drudgery that makes many people feel crafty. With a bit of luck, I'll have some time to get crafty myself!
I hope you're all super organised and have your Christmas preparations running like clockwork. I'm still struggling with my Christmas cards (I like to enclosen 'mini letters' with most of them). I'm going to have another stab at it tonight. I know there's no hope of them all getting to their destinations in time now, but I have so many friends that I only manage to contact at Christmas, I don't want to lose this important annual channel of communication. I shall pour myself a large glass of wine .. and get stuck in!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Day..we had a lovely time with lots of family, lots of food, and maybe a bit more wine that we should have!! 12 people for lunch today and I really can't get going...... still it's all good fun.
yes Cwtch - that's the best part of Christmas. Lots of food ... time with family ... and no real structure to the days. I haven't been able to 'get going' since Christmas Eve! I managed to get some decorations up (I always leave it until Christmas Eve') - packed the last of my presents - and then flopped into a chair with a large glass of Baileys (delicious ... but each Christmas I forget just how strong it is ... and spend the next couple of days regretting it!).
Hope you all had a good Christmas...I kept painting and listing right through....(my cousin in Glynneath did the Christmas dinner....fab). Happy New year to you all
