Congrats on your FP success. Hopefully it will bring you more views and sales.

I'm hoping that etsy picks up again soon, because I have been happy with my level of sales up until now. Hopefully, it's just a combination of time of year (May is always slow for me) and etsy's experiments with search (with a bit of luck they will get it all sorted soon).
However, I do think it's important not to put all your eggs in one basket and I will be looking to diversify too.

I wouldn't worry too much about your tags at the moment, especially as etsy are still tweaking the relevancy searches. Maybe change a few and see if it improves your relevancy ranking at all.

The weather is beautiful up here today. I'm hoping to head out into it at some stage!

Tell me....as an alien (although half Welsh)why do some people put Bore da and others Bore dda....?? Also Pnawn Da....I was taught Prenawn da....(not sure of the spelling there...sorry) (is it just shortened??) I need to go back to classes again....
I wish I could afford to go.
We did a year of Welsh Language when we came here but couldn't afford to continue...maybe one day...
Still no sales on etsy...but ebay has really taken off for me....perhaps etsy will follow...Folksy is doing brilliantly too....just need to get noticed on etsy...lol....working on it....

I've just been looking at the British team's BNR. I'm still cnfused. I know it's about buying from the featured items but am I alone in thinking it's about redistribution? As we're all struggling for sales how can we find new buyers rather than buying from our own teams?

Silly me thought I had it cracked last week after making the FP and having lots of views and favouites. The last two days - nothing.

I can't afford to do the BNR....as you say we need sales and not swaps....
I wish I knew the answer......

Same weather as you - surprise! Other half has just washed the windows. I told him I was getting a window cleaner who charges £2 per window and we've got 13 plus two patio doors. I knew it would work! And now, of course, it's started to rain!
So I've saved lots of money by not taking part in the BNR and dropping not so subtle hints.

Sorry not to have been around of late..just listed something new and surprised to find a whole new way of doing it.. and my goodness a million times better... so much faster and less hassle..
Iv now finished my job ;-( so have been so busy getting things together.. I took part in a makers market up here and had a good day and it was aslo a chance for me to chat about my workshops too. It was fun and was surprised to find no illustrations sold but all my textiles..
I hear its been dead here. I sold one item to America but thats it.. Im about to get a really good lot of photographs taken at the end of next month and hope that this will help... They are being done with a new collection of work and in a collab with a hairdressing salon and profl make up artist,, so hope that I might be able to get the photos in a mag too... we will see

Good to see you again. Your textiles are gorgeous - I love the fish! I'm so glad that sales have been going well elsewhere - even if not so much here. Etsy seems to have died a death recently - let's hope it picks up soon.

I have been listing on ebay too Teabreaks. Things have been a bit slower than usual for me there as well but if I list something really nice I find that it does sell quickly. I need to get some 'jollier' stock listed there (too many vintage engineering books and the like!!!)

You were asking about 'bore da' and so forth. I'm no expert, but I know that the mutated form 'dda' (as opposed to 'da') is used when the word that precedes it is feminine. ''Bore' (morning) is masculine so the correct form is 'Bore Da'. However, evening ('noswaith') is feminine - hence the correct form is 'Noswaith Dda'.
And, yes, 'Pnawn' is the abbreviated form of Prynhawn (afternoon) that we use up here in north Wales.

Incidentally, did you notice that we have a new member of the team, Yvonne (Karramandi) - Baban and I have already said hello. Yvonne joined when you were on holiday Teabreaks so you probably didn't spot her post.

I need to get a few more items listed (and should really add a few tonight) but it's difficult to muster up the motivation when things are so slow. I keep telling myself, however, that if I list a few more 'fresh' things it will do the trick!

No sales on etsy but more bids on ebay and today three sales on Folksy....I wonder what we can do to get etsy to work better for us.?? Do you think it is because Etsy is such a huge place or that people don't like ordering from other countries? Such a shame really.

Hi everyone, waving furiously back!! :-D

I'm wondering if the slowness of Etsy has been due, in some part, to the fact that the UK, France and Germany (?) each have our own front page. Do you think this has messed up Etsy?

I've had a break this last week as the kids were on half term, and yesterday was spent procrastinating (something I'm well practiced at) but today I managed to get a batch of soap made. Tomorrow I'm hoping to make some lip balms, tealight candles and some wax melts made which I'll list in my shop. I'm hoping that if I get a load of new things made and listed it might encourage views and sales.

one minute it is raining ...the next the sun is out...but my feet are cold and it is a bit windy.
Yesterday was a day not to forget. I was on duty in the Age Concern day centre and I noticed a man and lady in the entrance hall. The lady was almost lying down and so I asked if she was ok and she said that she was suffering a bad attack of vertigo. I asked if she had come for dinner and she said that no, she had been driving on the M4 and had been taken ill, so she came off at the slip road (her friend in a 2nd car had followed) and had come to the day centre, thinking it was a medical centre. I arranged for her to have some soup and told her to stay until she felt better (I was in charge of the day centre yesterday, as I am a trustee and the manager was on holiday.)
At the end of the day the man asked me if they could leave their 2nd car there and come back for it tomorrow...but although we said it was ok, we also pointed out that is wasn't a safe place at night, as lots of kids hung around there and often vandalised lights and windows etc. They didn't know what to do and so I told them they could drive to my house and leave the car there. THey followed me home and then I had to drive them back to town to collect the first car. It turned out that they were both actors on Pobol y cwm and were on their way to the tv studios.... they had to phone up and were written out of yesterday's script !!! I don't know them because I don't watch it as I can't speak Welsh ! Their car is STILL here, so I hope they come and collect it soon !!!! Bit of excitement for the day though.
My accountant friend has just left, done my tax forms and told me that the tax office owe me 78p !!...can't wait...lol

I have officially started my hurricane watch for the summer which means it is going to start raining a lot here in FL. The 1st tropical storm Adrian is in the pacific - no threat to us :) Hope it doesn't do too much damage elsewhere.

Wow excitement. I don't think I can get welsh TV on NTL but I'm not sure. I used to watch the scots gaelic channel at one point but that was a long time ago and I've forgotten most of the language now. The saying 'if you don't use it, you lose it' is so true. It's a shame because it would have been nice to teach the kids. I think i know more holiday spanish than I do gaelic these days

Hi Baban - I'm very envious. I'm a great Dara O'Briain fan! But then I've always liked Irishmen. My partner isn't Irish but he's the next best thing - a Welshman who wishes he had been brought up in Ireland!! He plays traditional Irish music with a passion but doesn't get so many opportunites over here to play.

Hi Cariad - long time no see! Hope you're ok. I have 'seen' you a few times on the other forum threads though. I have been hanging out there quite a lot recently - trying to get a 'handle' on why sales have dropped so rapidly since early May. It's all very strange - and more than just a seasonal blip. My shop has just been blown out of the water totally. Very worrying.

Off to 'stalk' the other forum threads again now - just to try to keep my finger on the pulse and hopefully figure out what on earth is going on!!
