Yes the 2kg limit makes such a different. My hubbie just sent work and split the weight to under 2kg- saving him about £20 with Royal Mail.
Still cold here but my friend in Finland has -22 and she says its getting colder. I'll stop complaining now. I saw a lot of snow on solar panels on people's rooves here- surely they don't work with snow on them? Should start a solar panel wiper shop on etsy!

Yep....it is the crafty folk team(daily listing club).......worth joining.....most of them are friends from Folksy so I am sure you will meet people that you know....it has certainly increased my sales.....a lot...!!

I had a very genuinue looking phishing email from paypal.....it looked genuine because it called me by my name and it even said that I didn't need to click on anything...just said that paypal were updating their details and if I didn;t reply my account would automatically be updated...
However, I send EVERYTHING to spoof@paypal.co.uk to check and they said it WAS a phishing email and not genuine and when I looked at who had sent it, it said it was from paypal@epaypal.co.uk (note the extra "e" in the address)...to make it seem more plausible (my son went directly to his paypal) and the genuine paypal ARE updating information......so I suppose that SOME people would click on the link in the email and give their details to the wrong people !! Very scary.....please be aware !!!
Thanks for the info on the spammer......what would it benefit them and how did you find out that it was a hoax?

I had a similar email back in the summer. It was for one of my expensive blanket so I was really pleased. I spent time writing out the way to buy because they came up as a newly registered buyer with no feedback (suspicious enough)
I waited to hear more but nothing. The entire wording set alarm bells ringing. I sent the convo to Etsy help and they confirmed it was spam.
I've since had them on F****y and here.
Basically if they want to bypass Etsy it's wrong!!
The benefit to them is that either they buy the item with fake Paypal or they get your Paypal details and then you are stuffed!!!

Hellooooooooo all so sorry I am way behind on my visits again but been so busy with working freelance and teaching.. I have got some really good news tho! A card publisher has taken my designs and they are being produced as cards and soon they will be on sale around the UK Europe and Canada and they can be bought online too http://www.greenpebble.co.uk/artists/morag-lloyds its a great start to the year for me.. but it didnt happen overnight!!

Do tell about the daily listings club how do you join? Brenda do you think you are getting your money back as it could mount up over £3.00 in Jan for you, ? Im asking as I dont make much on my cards but think it wold be good to try and get sales up.. my shop has been dead!

I'm definitely making my money back on the listings club, mostly putting up something new everyday as well :) but then my items are a little more expensive then cards.

You don't have to list every day. Mine are expiring daily so I'm mainly relisting. The purpose behind it to support the rest of the team by promoting in whatever way you can. I pin and fav and try to put team members in treasuries. Some members promote heavily on Twitter as well.

It's been a huge change since I started the club, although it's possible that the fact that I'm getting near 100 items is helping, but in general my stats have gone through the roof, so I'm trying for everyday, and I think I just missed one since I joined.

No real rules, just list, post and pin or tweet or whatever the other peoples items if you like them, I've tried to get organised to do more treasuries, but only done a few unfortunately, hopefully do some more this weekend. No one minds if you miss a day or anything although the thread moves very fast so you'll have some reading to do to catch up :) and when (not if) you get a sale you add yourself to the tally.

It's quite good motivation!

My daily listing club is on the "crafty Folk" team You agree to list one item a day for the month, but no one minds if you miss a day here and there...no hard and fast rules. You try if you can to click on other people's listings to get them more views and try to promote each other on twitter and pinterest (I don't do either of those, so I just click on the other shops if I can)...I also click to favourite items too....it all helps to get you more views.
It costs 12p a day to list so that is 84p a week (just a couple of choccie bars...lol)...so that is £3.36 a month (ish)...In January I sold 12 of my paintings at $5 each...$60.....can't work that out in £'s right now (too early in the morning) but definitely a good profit margin.
Before I joined the daily listing club I was lucky to get ONE sale a month !!
If you get a sale, you also go back onto the group and tell them and someone gives a daily running total of everyone's sales.
I worried at first about paying out all the listing fees but 12p a day is nothing really....I'm a pensioner and counting my pennies but it has certainly be worthwhile for me. !

I've got to say that daily listing on Etsy has been far more worthwhile than the daily listing club on F****y. I've sold two items there and one of those was a sympathy buy when I said I was leaving! I listed daily in July last year, nothing. Tried again in October and November again nothing. For me F****y has been a bottomless money pit. The more I throw at it the worse the results.

In December I decide to focus my attention on Etsy and so far it's paid off.

Sounds like a good idea Brenda....will think about that one. I also belong to the Promoting Creative Friends Team where we concentrate a lot on promoting eachother, treasuries, games, etc. I must say our views and sales have gone up over the last few months as our shop gets a lot of exposure through this team.

So cold here today and I'm very glad I don't have to go and work in the summerhouse this morning. Just finishing off one of the hats ordered and a pink and chocolate sleepy owl. I want to get them photographed before Laura comes round to collect the one. My daughter in law is popping in to pick up another order for her friend and she is bringing my little grandson William with her. Can't believe he is a month old today and has gone from 5lb 6oz when he was born to 8lbs in just 4 weeks!!!

Something very strange happening in the shop today!!!!! My Blue Sleepy owl has has had more than 240 views and total shop views are over 500.....is there something I don't know about???????

Great stuff! Look at your stats to see where the views have come from.

Looked at my stats and it says Etsy Home Page? Still don't know why though, had a look at the home page and can't see my hat there, unless there is a different home page for the US...

Hello Everyone, Happy New Year!
I've missed the chats since xmas, hope you're all doing well both on and off etsy (lol). Congrats on the new arrival Kim :)
So I dedicated January to creating a collection of work (thus the absence from posts), just released a portion of the pieces this week and more to come. I have no idea how they'll go down as they are totally different than anything else I've made...fingers crossed they become a hit as I love making them.
I'd love to work with a fellow etsian to make some drawstring pouches to package these new pieces in...I was thinking upcycled fabrics, scraps, batik print...something earthy. Anyone interested or have suggestions on a fellow etsy shop that I can work with on custom order?

I had something similar with my stats yesterday, I got 80 views in one hour in the middle of the night not sure where they came from. it was my first day over 200 views, but no sales. not gotten much done today spent a chunk of it separating a bunny fight and then fixing a chewed internet cable!

I haven't achieved much. Two relists and winding up skeins of cotton I washed in the summer. What fun as they are tangled now.
Cat have been back and for all day. Dizzy is now spread over the top of the radiator in the kitchen and it's red hot!

Just eaten a take away Chinese and opened a bottle of wine. Might call it a night.

Hi Thanks for all that info! I think when I have put more things together ( working on that now I will have a go at it altho Im still a bit confused but no doubt it will all become clear.. It seems however that you are all getting a heck of lot of viewings where I am only getting about 20 a day...!
