Hi all!

So do you all have blogs and websites outside of Etsy? If so, please let me know about them - if I can, I'll follow the blog! I just totally redid my website and I'm pretty pleased with the work so far - but there is a lot to go! If you have any compliments or critiques, feel free to express them - it only helps me out!

I think it was like $15 for the year. I signed up for my domain when they had a special. Lol.

Definitely!! I figure it's good enough for now, although they do have a paid version. Never looked into though. Lol.

So, I got off of weebly to make this website. I really don't recommend it for a blog. It is incredibly cumbersome to make a blog with multiple pictures in it - something I find important for my art.

I would recommend doing wordpress. You can pay for the premium stuff (I think I did like a baby premium package at $99) and it transferred my domain with no issues. It tracks your stats, lets you customize your theme (something weebly doesn't do) and is incredibly versatile. I don't entirely know what I'm doing yet, but some fantastic artists I know have been using wordpress for years and swear by it.

Oh - if you're only going to do one picture post, weebly is fine.

And they host the Etsy mini, which may or may not be important to you.

WordPress doesn't, but I just have a gallery showing what's for sale and a link to the shop, so it is pretty simple.

Also, Jacque, I love the color scheme for your website! So beautiful and calming, perfect for bath and body products!

Help!!!

I tried publishing my website and it took me straight to my registar.. despite me sending them an email to change the IP/DNS address and even doing it all myself.

Does it take ages for it to 'update' its settings???

do you have hosting? or just the domain registered. if you didn't also pay for hosting your website isn't accesable.

Sometimes it takes 24 hours before it works. If there are any issues, call the company you registered with and have them walk you through it. That's what they're there for!

I have free hosting with weebly.

I just have to wait and be patient.. I jumped the gun a little... I was just excited to have my own website. :(
