Good morning guys!
Since I'm new to Etsy, I thought I'd start a morning CnC thread in order to get to know a few people ;)

Plans for the day? Funny story to tell? Some good news to share? Pull up a chair, grab a fresh hot cup of joe and commence w/the chatting LOL!! :D

Talking about weddings, my sister is driving me nuts. I love her and want her to be happy - but she is being an utter bride zilla. If only she would make up her mind. Her husband to be has no say whatsoever and I am in charge of all the printing designs for the invitations and order of services. I have also been making pew ends and flower arrangements. Using fake flowers as it is a winter wedding.

I think the main reason this whole wedding thing is driving me nuts, is because my sister lacks any communication. Whenever I see her or talk to her, the wedding is completely different. Argh...

And apart from that I have been pretty good. I need more money before I can invest in my new range. So hoping I have more sales soon.

Oh yes I made a lemon victoria sponge cake for my mums birthday today - and it was a disaster. So I quickly made a normal victoria sponge cake which turned out pretty good.

I am not a bad baker - but hate the lack of consistency. Sometimes my cakes rise and other times they don't budge! Sometimes they sink as soon as I take them out of the oven. I tried all techniques,...

Id bake more if my results were more positive than negative lol!

I can totally sympathize w/your baking woes Katie...I can't bake to save my life LOL I can cook like a gourmet chef...but give me a cake pan and I'm totally ruined hahaha

Baking it too much like Chemistry for me (which is also why I dont make CP or HP soap). I am more slapdash in the kitchen and can never replicate my meals. Sometimes thats a good thing ;)

School starts in a few days and while I will miss my kiddo I am out of soap shop mojo. Thankfully the sales are coming in but I am a little burnt out making the goldfish soaps since I have made over 500 in the last few months. I need some creative outlet to be interested and while these are cute and all, the repetition is ...repetitious. So hopefully once I can be alone in the lab I will get some inspiration and get back into the flow of things. Right now, its just autopilot.

I love a challenge and just havent had one in a while. Or even a special request. Sigh. Ok pity party over.

OTher than that, its gorgeous here and I should probably take my kid outside or something.

Do you use silcone molds at all in your soap making? There are some really gorgeous ellaborate molds here on etsy - maybe you could try making gorgeous detailed flowers, filligree, cameo soaps. You know, really glamorous, girly soaps... hehe

You are welcome but I have been eyeing those earrings for a while and just kept forgetting to purchase. Cant wait to get them!

I do use silicone molds. They are my favorite and I love the ones I have seen on here. Most of my sales are for kids party favors but perhaps we need some girly additions. Show me some you like. I would love to see what others think are cool... you are all welcome to play! Inspire me! PLEASE!!

Andi, I'd LOVE to see a set of planets in our solar system - each with a different scent!

Tonight I'm trying to get two pieces entirely drawn and I hope that it happens. I'm rather uninspired by one of the commission pieces I am working on, but I love my other project.

Where's my coffee? I only need one more... gallon.

Oh! Another idea, Andi... you could do ones based on children's books. Shel Silverstein, Dr. Seuss, etc. I'm sure people would love to excite their kids into reading more by having more book paraphernalia around.

True- I get slightly confused about that, considering there are so many Disney themes or other themes on here & I'm sure they didn't seek permission. I avoid it by almost never doing a movie/book subject! And only then if I know the history of the author and that they wouldn't mind (i.e. Jacqueline Carey's novels... she loves art based on her books).

I was also thinking you could do a fun set where you package them in mesh netting (like the sports ones) and fill them with different sports themes. I know you already have the bath toy ones, but you could do the balls in actual soap, and maybe include hockey pucks for the hockey fans. Then you could also do things like athletic equipment, such as helmets, cleats, and hockey sticks!

Good morning everyone! I am just sipping my coffee while at my day job, barely awake yet (and I've been here for 40 minutes, whoops!). I finished a bangle yesterday, which I love, and updated parts of my website. I also wrote a blog post, which always makes me happy (you can check it out at www.eminationartistry.com if you would like).

I can't wait for work to be over so I can go home and make more art! I have an itch in my fingers to create! Do any of you have fun Sundays planned?

Haven't been making much lately for my shop .. I need to start making again. I am going to invest in some more wooden unfinished items and decorate them. Also going to get more glass faceted beads for a few more jewellery sets. I have been so distracted by my sisters wedding - I have been doing all the design and printing out of the invitations and I have to do the order of services too. I have also been creating flower arrangements (fake flowers). I have done all the pew ends, and arrangements for the church. I am now creating table center pieces. There doesn't seem to be enough hours in the day. Feel like I have neglected my shop and blog lately. But having said that I got three sales in one week. Seems the more I 'ignore' my shop - the better I am?? Weird!

Oh my goodness, everyone, I'm so excited. I made a treasury based on the first book of my favorite series - and Jacqueline Carey (the author) picked it up! She tweeted it and posted it on her Facebook, and now it has over 1,000 views... I'm so dang excited!
