My rant for today was my sons school. He has chronic nosebleeds and is often a minute or two late no matter how early we get up in the morning. They marked him as truant because my calling in was not enough, they wanted a doctor note, even when I called him in for the flu. I asked why they never told me a note was required, and they told me the absenses were excused. They had no answer so off we went to the doctor, he has strep throat today..got a doctors note and it acknowledged that he has had nosebleeds for over 4 years. They said "great for future reference" but we won't excuse the tardies even with a note because of a computer glitch. It will be on his permanent record, EVEN though I called and excused him and they said that was acceptable. Grrrrr.
Somebody is having a baby? Yay! 2 of mine were late, my daughter has a newborn, she was 2 weeks late, my daughter swore she would give birth to a teenager!
How annoying! It is a sign of poor organisation. Sorry that your son gets cronic nosebleeds, I never had a nosebleed in my life. But according to my dentist, I bleed through my mouth...?? lol
Here we go AGAIN! The same girl! I have been waiting for her to send back the bracelet - and she has. I told her my address, and told her shel''ll have to use a large stamp to cover the costs not a normal size stamp.
Obviously she didn'y listen to me, because I just receieve a note from royalmail that they can't deliever a packet to me because the postage wasn't fully paid....
As soon as this bloody thing is over... I am going to have a party.
I have paid it. I just got to wait longer now for it to be delievered.
Talking about waiting for things, how long does it take for you all to send a packaged overseas, if any, how long averagely do you think it takes?
Because I bought some beads, from etsy, from a woman from Texas on the 20th feb, and still nothing. I have sent her a message.. but really.. it is now 14th april!? It's nearly too months now!
I sent some candles to a friend that lived in the middle of nowhere in Norway and it only took about 10 days, I think. I've never had an official overseas sale yet, but that certainly sounds like a long time to me?
Katie that sounds like a long time. I would start investigating hard now.
I sent some soaps to a lady in Canada on the 2nd and she hasnt received them but she thinks they will be there next week. I know it can take a while but some of my Canadian customers get theirs pretty quickly. Told her to let me know when they arrive .
My rant? Allergies. I have HORRIBLE allergies and its allergy season and I just want to go to sleep! I ahve a craft show next saturday and have made NOTHING yet (all my stuff is made to order) and I am freaking a bit trying to decide what to make.
The longest something took for me was an order I placed with an Etsy shop from India. It took a month to get to me! OMG!
Andi, I think you'll do well at the craft fair! I'd bring your most popular fun soaps, like robots and leggos and then your regular spa soaps for "grown ups".
I have got a refund for the supples. Easy peezy. I wish all transactions were like that!
I once had a parcel from america take over 3 months to get to me. I think they get here on time - but the parcels must get 'stuck' in customs or something!
I thought I'd join your team because I haven't joined one yet so thought it might help me with the Etsy experience. I started my shop, but can't say I've done anything to promote it and you can see I only made one sale. I think I need some feedback from people who have been successful selling their things. Etsy seems great since it costs almost nothing to list an item, and since I'm retired, I thought I might earn a few dollars and keep occupied, so I'm not desperate,however, my fragile ego wonders if my things are just really, really bad...poorly photographed...overpriced...ill-conceived...poor descriptions, etc. So let me know if you have any suggestions or constructive criticism for me. Thanks for thoughts or ideas.

Rant: UPS SUCKS! I scheduled a pick-up April 18 for a package in NY to be sent to London (I live in CT). To this date, the package STILL has not been sent out and it's always some LAME excuse!
I don't want to take more pictures!!! Spent half the day shooting fabrics and 90% did not look good. Will most likely spend most of tomorrow setting up, ironing and shooting some more...

Throwing a pity party for myself, I quit smoking 4 and a half month ago, that was a good thing, then I gained 8KG, not so good. I joined the gym to work it off and now I have shin splints. No cigarettes, over weight and shin splits. Sore shins make using the foot peddle on my sewing machine a mare. This is an issue as everything in my shop is sewn on that machine. Having said that two sales since fab is another reason to throw an even bigger party lol Would anyone like to join my pity party?
The first 6 months of quitting are so hard.. i did it 3 yrs ago.. and i still get the occasional craving! I put on over 12kg too so I feel your pain. I found within a few months i got over going to the gym, it was much easier to use my Wii and get the Wii Fit Plus and just walk everywhere/use public transport locally instead of using the car. I'd lost 7kg in my first month.. then found out I was pregnant lol She's 6 weeks old, only another 6 weeks til I can get back into my routine.. I'm just going for a walk with the Little Miss everyday for 30-45mins atm.
Awww Sarah! But think of how much healthier you are for NOT SMOKING! I hope you find a fitness routine that works and you love as well. I have my Wii that I play and I also play my husband's xbox Kinect to switch it up. So far, still good! = D
I quit smoking ages ago. It was so hard! And I still got cravings years after. I had such a huge craving for cigarettes I basically had a binge on cigarettes one night a year ago - it was disgusting. But I have never had the urge to smoke since.
I lost a stone and a half on the wii - but I haven't played the wii in a while. I am loosing weight very slowly. I find eating breakfast and drinking lots of green tea, eating smaler portions works a treat.
I have found a lump in my right breast though - I have booked an appointment - nearest date available is the 11th - so hopefully I can get an emergency slot before then. I am praying it is nothing too serious.
