Shop Do-Over Perhaps?

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this board (and fairly new to Etsy). I've been using "Promoted Listing" for a few months now, and even though I've had hundreds of clicks, I haven't had any orders (from the promoted listings).

I'm looking for some brutally honest review of my shop. I'm open and willing to change anything. I may even change the name (and logo) in the near future.

So please don't hold back! I won't be offended LOL.

I looked over your shop, and I think it is wonderful. Your pictures are excellent, I love your descriptions, and the name of your items fit well.

You mentioned that you get many views but few sales, so the problem doesn't lie in people not finding you. Everything seems great.

The only thing that I can think of is the price. Buyers these days are looking for a bargain and the cheapest price. Your bracelets seem fine but your earrings may be priced higher than what most buyers are willing to pay.

I don't have much advise to offer but that is my insight on your shop. It's clean professional and you have good reviews. I really am stumped. I'll look at it some more just in case I find something.

Sorry it took so long to reply - I'm never notified when someone responds to any of my posts on team boards. Maybe there's a setting that I've missed lol.

I totally understand what you're saying about prices. I'll rethink the earrings. A month or so ago I reduced (drastically) the prices on everything, and I still didn't get the sales I thought I would. All of my sales have mostly been friends/family/BNS team.

Oh well - gives me time to refine my packaging, descriptions, and overall branding before I hit the big time :D

I do wish you luck. I'm not doing so well myself so I am going to add a few new products and see how they do. Washcloths, key chains, and face scrubbies here they come.

I took a look at your shop - I love your products! And the pictures are adorable! I used to put headbands on my daughter - Soooo cute!

Knitting is near and dear to my heart too, because my mother is an avid knitter and is always making something. In the past, she tried selling some scarves and definitely did not get back what she put into it. Knitting is a labor of love, which some people just don't want to pay for.

That being said, I would think your items should be selling faster; you have some great hats, headbands, and scarves. Love the soap line too! Have you ever thought about candles?

Have you ever been part of a "Buy and Sell (BNS) Treasury"? I'm on one, and that's where a lot of my sales have come from. I can recommend your store to the curator, if you'd like; I think your store would fit in really well! I'll try and send a link to it, so you can see the other stores.

Good luck! Summer time will probably be a tough time for hats and scarves - maybe there is some sort of summer line you can come up with? Just a thought.

I just hope I can build up a good review and reputation. My best selling time would probably be fall due to the scarves and hats. I'm also about to add washcloths, face scrubbies, deer antler keychains, sponges, and baby seat buckle strap covers. I wish you luck as well.

I think those new additions sound great! Based upon your talent, I'm sure they will be very well received.

Don't get discouraged; ultimately, we need to remember that it is so much fun to create. Doesn't matter how much we sell (hopefully), so just be patient and have fun. I've heard other people say that they make their items primarily for the Christmas rush - everything in between is just peanuts!

I had a look at your shop. I think it's well presented, and your work looks great!

Maybe people don't buy because your articles are not very "original". I mean, there are a lot of other shop that have this type of bracelets for example - even though they are never exactly the same of course. So people favourite it because it's easy to do so, and they buy the same kind of jewelry elsewhere - on a real marketplace, in a cheaper shop, I don't know...

That's my idea about your problem, but I'm not a specialist in marketing (oh really not)! I wish you good luck.
