Opinons please. Experimenting with listing photos...

I'm on the never ending journey to improve my listing photos and have been experimenting with a variety of styles and backgrounds and I'd like your feedback on what's working and what's not as well as what style you think best displays my items.

Also, are there any other issues I should address? I've been open for awhile, over a year, and I've only had seven sales :(

I've improved my SEO (seen my views double since optimizing each listing and am being found found via a variety of sources), have worked endlessly on my listing photos and increased the number of items in my shop. I've also expanded my social media presence. I'm on Facebook, Pinterest, Tmblr, and Instagram.

I've been experimenting with different types of items in my shop too. I know it's best to specialize and find a niche though. Are there any products you prefer?

Any advice/feedback is greatly appreciated. I've just been so frustrated lately. I'm trying to decide if I need to push on or if perhaps this is a sign that I need to pursue a different direction...

Hi Lydia,

Your stuff is so cute!!

I LOVE this necklace! But I think the main picture is a little too zoomed in. I think maybe I'd prefer it zoomed out a bit more?

I like the thumbnail for this product:

so I think if you did the same thing for the kite necklace - like how you show where the necklace curves at the bottom - I think that would be better.

For this painting:

I would suggest staging it (put it on a shelf with some other cute items & take a pic) as well as having a picture where you're holding it with your hand, so people can easily tell what size it is. (You can check out my shop for an example - for all my small paintings, the picture is my hand holding the painting)

Also, maybe you could custom arrange the order of your items. You could do a row of bracelets, a row of paintings, etc. That way people could more easily tell what's what and compare items. That's what I do with my shop. I don't recommend it for all shops, but yours is like mine - you have a variety of different types of items. For the items that are similar you could photograph them the same way (like you did with the bracelets) to make it a bit more consistent.

Other than that, I think your pictures look great. Your tags and titles look good too.

Hope that helps a little!

Heather
