Handmade Vs Vintage

Hi all

Just wanted some opinions on my handmade items. I have now sold some of my vintage items, my handmade things don't seem to have 'it'. Is it price, how they are made, or just not within current trends? What would you like to see/buy ? Ideas welcome! Thank you

Re: Handmade Vs Vintage

Alright, so before I begin I want to say good on ya for posting so many items...alot of people post 10 items and complain that they aren't getting sales but you've got a good size collection. Now onto the nitty gritty. These are my opinions and I hope you don't take any offence to them :)

I think your pictures could use some improvement. The lighting isn't the best in them. Usually natural lighting is best.

I think that the prices on your mini hats and bibs is right on but I think the price on your handmade brooches are a bit steep. A sure fire way to get peoples attention is to have a range of price points. I think if you brought the price of your brooches down a bit, at least until you gain more of a clientelle, you might be more successful.

I think you should keep focusing more on the mini-hats. They are very unique and "in" at the moment. Maybe even try some mini-hat hair clips or barettes?

Anyway, that's my 2 cents :) Keep on keepin on and enjoy!

Thanks for that! No offence taken! It is good to get an idea from someone else, sometimes an outside view makes it a lot clearer!

Thank you for your comments, they really help! I will look at the brooches again, and have a few hats in the making (but not quite finished yet) so I suppose with a few changes here and there, it 'll work a bit better.

Great advice, really appreciate it.
