Shop critique please!

Hello, my name is Laura and earlier this year I started my Etsy store Cocoa Jewellery. I've only made one sale since opening and I'd love some tips from experienced sellers on what I can do to improve my shop.

Honest opinions welcomed!

Re: Shop critique please!

Laura, your shop is really nice and your products and prices are great. I do have input on a couple of things though:

I would recommend shooting your jewelry all on a white background to keep the eye flowing through your shop. I see you shoot everything on a fabric background, but it varies slightly in color and kind of breaks up the flow. Shooting in a white photo box or on a piece of white tagboard in the shade on a sunny day makes your listings look extra professional and also more congruent with eachother.

I would also think about your tags. If I were looking for jewelry, I would be searching for 'statement necklace' or 'costume jewelry', something that describes what TYPE of piece I am looking for and not necessarily what it is made of, does that make sense?

Your items are lovely, I really like http://www.etsy.com/listing/103865771/sterling-silver-black-onyx-turquoise. Good luck to you!

Re: Shop critique please!

Thanks for taking the time to look over my shop!

After looking around other stores I have decided to get a light box, which I should receive soon so I can improve my photos. I totally agree, my current backdrop for my photos is not ideal, as I relied on natural lighting which always made the background look a different colour.

I will definitely have a look at my tags too, and try to improve them!

Thanks again for your advice!

Laura

Aside from the background varying slightly, your pictures are really nice already so I bet with the light box, your pieces will really pop! Good luck with everything!

Re: Shop critique please!

Hi all, since first asking for a critique here, I have re-taken a lot of my photos and added some new items that are a bit different to what I was originally selling and tried to make some other improvements.

I was hoping to get some opinions on my new photos, stock etc. and any other advice on my shop that might improve my sales, as I have only made two so far!

Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura,
I do not know too much about Etsy shops because I am new. But your new photos and your products look great in my opinion. Good work!
