I just noticed a shop is using a large chunk of my item description in her listings for similar items. The item in question is something I have just a few of (not my core item) but is the main item in the other shop. I have no problem with our having nearly identical items, but she lifted parts of my exact item description. Is this permitted? I don't want it to look like I lifted it from her! What would you do? Contact her directly and ask her to write her own description? Report to etsy?

Has anyone experienced this? I have had an ‘order’ but it’s not showing in my sales, not customer details no nothing, a ghost sale. Not sure how to proceed…………. Would be very grateful for any advice.

This has been an ongoing problem for me as a custom items seller for quite awhile. When I make a custom item for a customer(which is 99% of my business)I ask the customer's permission to list it in my shop as an example of my custom work. If they approve and I make the listing, the first thing I say in the description is that the item is not for sale. It is only an example of my custom work and would the customer please contact me before purchase. Since customers, for the most part, do not read, they make the purchase anyway and expect it to be available. Etsy does not help as they automatically list that "one is available", even if it has to be custom made and not in stock. This causes much confusion for the customer and problems for me. I have had to refund an untold number of orders because of this. Is there a solution that I am not aware of? I appreciate any input in this matter. Thank you, Kathy(Katescache)
