Trying to decide whether or not I should rearrange/consolidate shops

Right now I have 2 shops. In one of them I have baby/kid items, in the other one I have household items.

In the household shop, all I really sell right now are lunch bags and tea cozies. I'm thinking about discontinuing the tea cozies because they're a pain to make, and I sell maybe 2-3 per year so they don't really seem worth the effort.

I'm also in the process of writing more patterns, and I've started buying fabric wholesale and selling what I don't use.

So, I'm wondering if it would make more sense to move the lunch bags to Baby Dear, and just use my 2nd shop Chestnut Designs for patterns and supplies. The only downside I see, is that I've finally started selling quite a few patterns, and I'm afraid if I move them I'll have to start all over with relevancy and stuff. Maybe that's not a huge issues, I don't know. I guess I could leave the tea cozies where they are until they're gone, or would that be weird?

Any opinions?

Re: Trying to decide whether or not I should rearrange/consolidate shops

Although not really the answer for the questions you're asking, I wanted to make a suggestion! In my shop, I sell personalized, hand-painted canvases. They are VERY time-consuming, and definitely not the most enjoyable thing I do, but....I feel that it's really important to have a broad range of items available while getting established (online mainly, locally is already pretty established). When I initially started doing the paintings, my prices were on the rather low end, especially for something that was hand-painted, and took hours to complete. When I decided that I really didn't ENJOY making them like most of the other pieces I have available, I had two options - stop selling them, or raise the price, therefore likely selling less.

The decision to stop selling them would lessen the views of my shop, and make it look like I'm only able to do a small range of products. I want my customers to come to me with custom orders of things they are interested in. Having these pieces in my store, allows them to see that I am not all wreaths and fabric-wrapped canvases. If you REALLY want one of these paintings, I can make them for you, but it's a little more expensive. The thing is, people still want them, but I'm now getting paid more for my time and creativity. It has made it worth it. So, less orders for the things I don't LOVE, but when they are ordered, I make a nice chunk of change! I hope this is helpful! Best of luck with your questions and success! :-)
