This has been an ongoing problem for me as a custom items seller for quite awhile. When I make a custom item for a customer(which is 99% of my business)I ask the customer's permission to list it in my shop as an example of my custom work. If they approve and I make the listing, the first thing I say in the description is that the item is not for sale. It is only an example of my custom work and would the customer please contact me before purchase. Since customers, for the most part, do not read, they make the purchase anyway and expect it to be available. Etsy does not help as they automatically list that "one is available", even if it has to be custom made and not in stock. This causes much confusion for the customer and problems for me. I have had to refund an untold number of orders because of this. Is there a solution that I am not aware of?
I appreciate any input in this matter.
Thank you,
Kathy(Katescache)
