Hello. I was sending out messages to update customers on orders and I got a message saying my messages are temporarily disabled. How can I fix this?
We appreciate everyone's feedback, and since OP's question is not a technical issue but has already been answered in any case, I'll go ahead and close this thread.
Thanks!
You have a total of 3 sales. Etsy wouldn't disable your messaging for 3 messages. Were you sending promotional emails to Etsy members, other sellers or buyer only's?
Sending unsolicited* messages to potential or previous customers is called SPAM and is not allowed. If Etsy detects that you are sending such messages they will temporarily disable your messaging service.
*'unsolicited' means that they did not contact you first and give you permission to contact them.
The fix is simple. 1-Wait it out until Etsy decides you can get your privileges back. 2-Don't do it again.

If you have to contact someone you are currently in a transaction with you can email them. The Etsy message thing is temporary and meant to be inconvenient. It is to discourage spam messages.
I have read here the first time you abuse the etsy message system, you can't have access for about a week,
I have never seen anyone come here who has done it a second time, so I assume those shops don't stay open
If you were contacting people who hadn't purchased from you, it's illegal in many countries, it's against USA can-the-spam laws, and against EU and UK GDPR policy
You sell to the EU/UK, you need a GDPR policy in your shop,
