Is there any glitch on etsy at the moment when completely incorrect delivery times are showing for the buyers? I have shipping time set up from Ireland to the States for 6-13 days, all my orders are showing sth like that" Ship by 2 Oct- Buyer expects delivery 2-3 Oct", my shipping profile shows my shipping times to the States correctly, even if  I was in the States that would be a ridiculous estimate for delivery, I'm on a different continent...; is anyone aware of that? thank you,

Re: wrong/ non-realistic delivery times showing for buyers

So many other like myself have seen this lately, I had one myself on my last vintage sale. Ive changed my shipping times to Mon-Fri and no Holidays to no avail. I still get a order that says the customers expects it yesterday. Apparently Etsy has mastered Wormhole travel and expects us to do the same.

Re: wrong/ non-realistic delivery times showing for buyers

September 25th order on dashboard showed ship by Oct 3 and "buyer expects package Oct 2-5"
Shipped Friday the 27th, etsy-estimated shipping time changed AGAIN:
"buyer expects delivery Sept 28-Oct 1"
So it's going several states away, shipped in person at the USPS yesterday, Ground Advantage, and etsy thinks it's a great idea to suggest to the buyer it may arrive TODAY ?

@Adorabilities

I see this info on the dashboard order page since I don't use labels myself, but I'm going to assume the buyer is getting this info until I know otherwise. Then when the package is shipped, it is changing again to a very short window of time.

Since all parties already have USPS etc. tracking information as well as their estimated arrival times that update regularly during the process, etsy helping out with wrong information...would be confusing.

Re: wrong/ non-realistic delivery times showing for buyers

I agree that it's confusing.

I realize this is not what your post is about, but I'm wondering about the point at which the package is actually considered late by Etsy (and therefore able to be refunded.) It should be based on the original dates, right?

I just went back to look at my older purchase receipts to see what is communicated there. All of the ones that had been delivered show "estimated delivery" on the exact day it actually was delivered. So unless that's a huge coincidence, it seems they're changing that after the fact.

Re: wrong/ non-realistic delivery times showing for buyers

@Adorabilities: You are correct - they are replacing the estimated delivery date range with the actual delivery date.

@Adorabilities

No, the refund for late is based on the date when you ship it, not the dates you see when it is bought

It has been like that since etsy made us provide delivery times, and they introduced buyer protection.

Re: wrong/ non-realistic delivery times showing for buyers

It's been weeks that the seller processing time isn't taken into account for the timeline given to the buyer.      There are theories that Etsy is basing this off of prior shipping performance but that means processing times are pointless.

I'm frustrated because while I generally ship earlier than scheduled, I have the time built in in case I can't whether that be personal life or weather getting in the way.   It should be my choice of whether I use that time, not Etsy's if the buyer agreed to the timeframe when purchasing.    PLUS if shipping performance is now counted as part of the algorithm, how is this affecting placement?    So much for clearing up what the factors are....clear as mud!

Re: wrong/ non-realistic delivery times showing for buyers

@moonbeamgifts When I first brought this up over 2 weeks ago, many contributors claimed "All is OK" because the Delivery Timeframe on the Shipping Notice appeares to be correct.

Now, there may well be a difference beteween what those of us using Manual Shipping Profiles see and what those using Calculated Shipping see. This all began around the time Etsy asked everyone to check / update Postal / Zip codes for Ships from location, supposedly to make Estimated Delivery Dates more accurate.

From what I have observed, there are currently two issues. (perhaps three?)

One issue is that the "Order Today get by XXX - XXX" advice given to Buyers on the actual Listing appears to be ignoring Processing Times so that the Buyer is being advised the Parcel will be delivered before the Processing Time has elapsed.

The other issue is that, somehow, the EDD range on the Shipping Notification sent to the Buyer is "changing" sometime after Shipping and this looks like the actual Delivery Date is becomming the earliest EDD.

I have raised several Suooprt Tickets about this and all are still active with a "we are working on this" response once the Ticket gets past the "bots" and a human replies.

IMO, it is unhelpful for those who do not see this or do not understand what we are experiencing to continually tell us it does not really matter because the Shipping Notification, which forms the contract, is correct.

I believe Sellers with short Processing Timeframes are not really  picking up on these 2 isssues, but those of us with longer ones are seeing it every day.

Whatever is happening, and I am still unclear about the what and why, what I do know is that my Listings show a Buyer incorrect information. If a Buyer purchased on the basis of the information on the Listing and there were time constraints driving the decision, then that Buyer would be confused and disappointed when I actually shipped and they saw a longer EDD timeframe.

An example I posted in another Thread also suggests a possible third issue

Listing Information Order Today to get by 12 Sept to 18 Sept”

Actual Shipping Profile  (Manual / International) estimated Delivery  12 Sept – 24 October

In this case, my issue is not too early a first Estimated Delivery Date, but too late for the final Delivery Date. So the information on the Listing is not showing the Manually Set-EDD timeframe for the different Countries I ship to

Re: wrong/ non-realistic delivery times showing for buyers

I have the same issue, I am in the North of Ireland and it’s taking up to 6 weeks to arrive in the USA or Canada. I currently have one customer screaming at me as it hasn’t arrived in under 2 weeks. I try to dispatch same day or next day and even then when I am purchasing my delivery label I have the red notice that it may arrive late , like how! Something is clearly wrong with the system, it’s super frustrating for us sellers when it’s a daily issue.
