I think it would depend on the item(s), quilts may have more than one or two types of materials some even more. Clothing Vintage for Adults, children, babies, could be the material is no longer available for repairs and needs material as close to the old vintage ones. Buyers have to be told, as sellers have to be open about how things are made or repairs done, even the smallest pieces. Some buyers do get very upset as they are buying vintage or handmade items many only one of a kind personal pieces, or custom made for the customers. Etsy wants Sellers that keep Buyers happy, which keep them coming back to Etsy for more purchases.
