Firstly you need to be registered for the EPR Legislation (called Lucid). I explain it here, yearly contribution has increased to €25 or so now though https://community.etsy.com/t5/All-About-Shipping/Germany-EPR-Lucid-Registration-information-etc/td-p...

Then you also need to add customs documentation, in a see through pouch on the outside of the package which includes 2x a commercial invoice (see link for template I use) and 2x packlist (I use the Etsy packing slip which I print on the back of the commercial invoice). Don’t forget to fill it in correctly with incoterms (I use DAP) and HS Tariff codes. If your order is below €150 the customer paid VAT (double check your order to see if this is the case). Make sure the Etsy IOSS number is transmitted electronically through your carrier so that the customer doesn’t have to pay VAT double. 

If the order is over €150 and no VAT was collected it will mean the customer will have to pay 19% VAT plus a % amount of import taxes, plus an administrative fee for the carrier. This can add up quite a bit, I would make sure the customer knows about this before you send your order to avoid unpleasant surprises and possible refused packages. 

hope this clarifies it. Sounds a bit overwhelming perhaps but it really isn’t too bad.

THANK YOU to all who responded.

Unfortunately, in order to let the customer receive the order earlier. I already sent an item out without Lucid. Is there anything I can do now?

@JArtStudioStore there is no Etsy registration number for recycling systems. You have to sign up and buy a license for your business.

For Lucid it is ok to buy the license retrospectively, as it is then applicable for the whole calendar year and will cover the already sent order. Cost is about €23-25 and is for 2023 Germany then.

France, Spain, Luxembourg, Austria (and some more) all have separate programs which you would need to sign up for. If you don't want to do that then I would remove those countries from your shipping profiles.

@JArtStudioStore I mention and link it just a couple posts above. But here it is, should cover most questions you have on how to register for the license. It's mandatory for selling to Germany. Same as other EU countries, where you need seperate ones.

The following 4 questions I have no idea what to fill out when I register LUCID.

I think I don't have this information. How do you fill it out? 

1. Taxpayer reference number

2. National identification number

3. Authority

4. Designation of national identification number

@JArtStudioStore Did you watch the explanation video I linked in above post?

Watch it, as it mostly explains what you need to do, also regarding national Id etc. Obviously I have no clue where everyone is from so I don’t know your relevant tax number names etc. It’s all subjective to your location. 

You don’t need an authorized representative, that is more for big companies that delegate (pay) a person / company to manage Lucid for them.
