I do not understand what it means:
The video you uploaded is too wide or too tall — try again with a maximum aspect ratio of 9:16
1. What are the size limits?
2. What is "maximum aspect ratio of 9:16"? is 8:16 ok? 9:30 ok?
Thanks for the info, but it does not address my questions.
Specifically, I created my video, recording the window on my computer. The window size is 809 pixels width, 430 pixels height.
What is exactly wrong with it?
@clockofclocks: If you are shooting for an aspect ratio of 9:16, your video would need to be 455 x 809 or 430 x 764 (based on the window size you mentioned). https://www.dacast.com/blog/video-aspect-ratio/ may help.
So, it MUST be 9:16, right?
And the message is wrong?
9:16 does not work either.
Does anyone know how to deals with this issue?
Same issue here... I get the error, adjust the aspect ratio to 9:16, but Etsy still says it needs to be a max of 9:16.... annoying and frustrating. You can get around it by making the aspect ratio wider, like 3:4. It'll have black or white bars on the left and right side - but at least you can get it uploaded.
Hey!
I had the same problem and I solved it by "almost" doing nothing. I uploaded my videos to canva, created a blank video project. Just placed the video inside the first frame. Downloaded the file from canva as a new mp4 file. Now it works with Etsy. I have no idea why it did not work in the first place, and have o idea now it works, though.
It crops it for you if you upload on the mobile app
