understanding how stats are reported

In looking at stats for my shop on my ipad, in the last 7 days it shows 9 views and 7 visits.  When I click on the 9 views line I see only one item that shows 1 view.  Can someone please explain this to me?

@BCOLEBEADS: Etsy stats have always been a little bit of a black box filled with an additional layer of mystery. And there are reports that stats vary based on whether you are looking at them via the app or via a browser. One possible explanation for the numbers is that seven people came to your shop, and except for one view of a listing the remainder only looked at your shop home page (one of them twice). You may want to consider adding Google Analytics to your shop for a slightly more enlightening picture of your shop's traffic.
