today I've tried to browse and look at vintage jewelry . I go to the filters and click on vintage and click on apply.. The search is showing handmade jewelry not vintage. any one else having this issue? I did clean my browser history . I tried yesterday as well and the same thing. thanks...
It's possible that some shop owners used "vintage" as a tag.
I thought that as well but its not that. the filter keeps defaulting back to both .. hand made and vintage - very strange I can't look at just vintage jewelry.
I really miss the ability to use the minus sign in search. Once upon a time this outcome could have been greatly cleared up by adding -handmade in the search bar after the attributes wanted such as vintage
I did a search for "vintage jewelry bracelet". For the most part, on Pg. 1 the listings had "vintage" in the Title. (I know we all get different search results). NanaLetha has a good point about some Sellers using "vintage" as a Tag (if it's Handmade, you shouldn't call it Vintage though).
I am going in through the jewelry category.. very strange. I usually browse this way.
I agree something is wonky with search. I was looking for "vintage sterling bracelets" yesterday and wanted to seach lowest price to highest. First listing was for a $375 bracelet (handmade, not vintage), second was for a collection of (lovely) handmade chain bracelets for $180. Tried again, same result. I gave up.
@ChillwolfArtIf a piece of jewelry has one or more vintage components, a valid description and list of tags could include the word vintage and be a handmade item too. (I know this is a detour from the exact query in the OP's post, sorry.)
@acrazeeladyI hope the filters get fixed. Etsy seems to have taken the attitude that they know better what someone is looking for than the person searching in the style they want to. I am sure someone occasionally stumbles across something they love that they would not have otherwise stumbled across. However per my experience, it more often results in giving up searching for what I was looking for on this site and going elsewhere.
@EDCCollective Good point; Thank You!
thanks everyone... seems to be working now.
