the deposit was unsuccessful
I have been selling on Etsy since 2013 as a Hong Kong seller. Recently, I updated my legal and tax information, as well as my bank account details. However, Etsy has had trouble successfully depositing a small amount into my account. After several attempts to re-enter my bank details and upload my bank statement, I received an email stating, "Good news: We’ve verified your bank account!" Despite this verification, Etsy did not send the small deposit.
Unfortunately, when Etsy tried to make a deposit yesterday, it was unsuccessful, and the funds returned to my Etsy account. I contacted the Etsy team, and they advised me to check with my bank to determine why the deposit was returned.
When I spoke with my bank, they informed me that they did not see any deposit, so there was no money to return.
I re-entered my bank details and uploaded my bank statement again, and I received the same confirmation email from Etsy: "Good news: We’ve verified your bank account!"
I have chatted with the Etsy team multiple times, but I keep receiving similar responses.
Currently, they have verified my bank account and will attempt to send the deposit again today, but I'm worried that the same issue will happen again.
I've read through various forum threads and noticed that many others are experiencing similar problems.
One concern I have is whether the taxpayer address needs to match the bank statement address exactly (Such as “Blk” vs “Block”). Could this be causing the deposit issues? I'm hesitant to make any changes, fearing it might lead to further complications. I'm reaching out to see if anyone else has dealt with a similar situation.
