Re: technical issue
That's a scam, and etsy has removed the user which is why you can't reply.

Re: technical issue
True Etsy support messages appear in the section for Etsy messages. If not there then that is a scam message.
Also there is a block that discusses spam messages on the message system.
Check in announcements for further information.
Do not respond to the scammers. First Etsy will never send a message like that as they have all information they need and do not contact shops individually for issues of payment. If you get a 2nd message purporting to be the buyer and why haven't you shipped, spam that message too.
Only trust the order area and the number that shows on the shop home page. Orders will only show up in the order area. They are only the real orders.

Re: technical issue
@AWAKESigns etsy recently changed how messages from etsy appear in your message inbox; they will now have their own section so you know it's legit. Anything else claiming to be from etsy is a scam.

Re: technical issue
One sure way to tell it's a fake is that Etsy will NEVER address you as Dear Seller.
This is coming from either one of two countries overseas that I won't name lest I get slapped for it.

Did you send your email address to anybody? or click on any message / email link which took you to an Etsy login page?

Re: technical issue
Ya, I'm most concerned with expecting a code on their phone.
OP - are you already signed up for 2FA? Please make sure you are only getting a code when you are legitimately logging into your account, not because someone told you to expect one through a message. You may need to check your account's security tab and make sure no one has signed in from somewhere else and altered any of the account data, like changed the phone number attached to the account.

Re: technical issue
@AWAKESigns Hi, I'm sorry your were targeted. There has been an influx of these thieves, and I'm sorry to say I don't see it lessening. Etsy has recently added a folder in Messages, entitled "From Etsy". If a Message appears to come from Etsy Staff/Support, and it is not in that designated folder, it's FAKE. Mark it as Spam only so you don't get dinged for Star Seller. Here is the Etsy Announcement about the "From Etsy" Folder. This Announcement is now located in past Announcements (for a while, it was at the top of the Forum).
https://community.etsy.com/t5/Announcements/New-From-Etsy-section-in-Messages/m-p/143722497#M1899
When you get an Order, it will appear in the "Orders & Shipping" Page (in your Seller Dashboard). If it's not there, it's FAKE.
