so I did everything right, got an llc and ein after my etsy store started being successful. I wanted to move taxes from my social to my ein. The problem is that the entity name field only gives one box to type in entity and name. The first time I tried to just do my LLC name it kicked it back as wrong and told me I had 2 attempts before getting locked out.
I eventually got the correct information inputted after a 24hr wait based on what my tax office said. Etsy still could not verify it even though it was correct. So I uploaded all of my documents on support tickets. we are talking 4 tax documents, driver license, screenshots from tax website and screenshots of dashboard messages saying "you're all set to sell on etsy". My dashboard, and also emails that came my way following every message and instruction given and still nothing. Forced vacation mode and deactivated listings I decided to put it back to my ssn just to get my income going and my customers taken care of. 5 days later I still am locked out. Ive reached out via chat, emails, tickets, even social media with professional and respectful requests for help. My dashboard has two conflicting banners that my tax info has been verified in green and a red banner that my tax info cannot be verified in red.
Fun fact, their help system is set up to outsource as much as possible. Only a select few of etsy specialist can actually manually correct issues once they see them through the back-log. Your emails, chats, and even phone calls to their NY office are put in 3rd party support with limited capabilities to cut costs. Template responses and automated messages that regurgitate policy that is not related to your issue feed to the frustration. I'm being as patient as I can be.
