ya seriously im really really upset right now, its crazy, i did everything i should have done to get the star seller badge, i had everything i needed to get it also, i checked all three boxes messages, reviews, and on time shipping, but they simply didn't give it to me, like forreal this sucks so bad, not just cuz i didn't get it, but because of how hard i worked just to get it, and now all that hard work and extra time i put into doing everything extra correct, so that i would ultimately get the badge, its the holidays too, all i wanted for Christmas was my star seller badge. that's all i wanted nothing else! Christmas is ruined now! I really wish there is more that can be done to fix this obvious glitch in the system, that is the purpose of me writing this, not just to cry to everybody else. i really do believe this process should be redesigned from the ground up, because i notice alot of other seller have similar issues, and its not just me... hopefully it can be done one day, because its a big deal, if you do your research correctly u know that the star seller badge is highly desirable. its really not fair, like u guys have no idea how upset i am about this, its huge to me, i have worked so hard to EARN THAT FREAKING BADGE... and here i am with no badge...really unfortunate!! all that hard work and nothing as a result, its devastating to a productive person like me, so devastating.
seriously bummed out!!
Since your post is lacking punctuation, it’s very difficult to discern what exactly you are saying. I’m guessing it the lack of star seller. Since you have no badges, it’s either the $300 minimum or your shop has not been open for at least 90 days.
" i checked all three boxes messages, reviews, and on time shipping, but they simply didn't give it to me, ..."
There are actually 5 criteria. Did you meet all 5? The number of sales and $ minimums must be met first in order to qualify to receive the star or individual badges. The info should be right there on your star seller page in shop manager.
6, they have to have been selling for 90 days also.
Re: the no. of sales and dollar amount minimums; I really think there should be something about this on our Star Seller page, under:
"Know What Counts" and "Questions? We've Got Answers."
I've not found it when I go back and read the info. It just shows up in the purple boxes when you get so many sales (including the dollar amount). *(Please correct me if wrong). I think it would be helpful to be added to that info.
Yes, forgot that one. Thanks.
@ChillwolfArt It is pretty clear to me when I look at one of my other shops that won't ever qualify since it never meets those minimums first. It says right there on the page "not there yet" with the minimums info. If you click the > for more info it has a link to the help center page with the info. I do agree that it needs to be added to the blurbs on th actual star seller page in shop manager but this is etsy, they like to make us click 50 times to find simple basic info hehe
I'm really sorry you're upset. First off, don't let not getting a Star Seller Badge ruin your Christmas; just don't! Any of us who have it could lose it at any given time. There are also many Sellers who are deserving of it, but do not have it for one reason or another.
As a Buyer, if I was trying to decide between two different Shops (for example), and one had the Badge but the other didn't, I am not going to let the Badge be the deciding factor. Other things will ultimately make up my decision; not a badge.
Did you download the last 3 month period to see what the Metrics say you missed? To do this, in your Shop Manager, click "Star Seller":
- Click "Last Review Period" > Download
I hope this helps. And don't let it get to you, OK? I also wish you many holiday sales!
I'm very sorry this is so upsetting for you. It's always hard when we put in a lot of effort into our businesses only to not have it pay off, right? Unfortunately this can be a difficult art of running a business as retail is always changing. I did want to share that most sellers have managed to obtain the star will periodically loose it. This is because it's a very simplistic program which can't accommodate for all the diverse situations that happen when selling online. Some of these things are out of a sellers control.
There are also additional factors which impact the Star Seller badge such as a minimum amount needs to be sold within a specific amount of time in order to qualify. Could this be an issue?
My shop has lost and gained the badge mostly due to hand deliveries. The traffic in my shop was not impacted either way. While Etsy has been testing in this area, it is still unlikely to be a major factor in search algorithms due to profit and loss reporting.
On a positive note, putting in efforts to improve a shop is positive. The best and most important rewards for this are happy customers. Wishing you many of these.
Sure you are disappointed, and I think there are countless other sellers that have been on the forums today, that are equally disappointed, frustrated, and showing their annoyance & frustration...but I do believe life will go on, the sky is not falling and tomorrow is another day...
with or without an SS badge, you have proven to yourself what you can do...
The excellent feedback & compliments from your customers have been earned...
Please, please take a D-E-E-P breath, grab a box of chocolates, a glass of wine, put your feet up and R-E-L-A-X!...that's what any seller deserves for a job well done!
Did you meet all the criteria for Sept, Oct. and Nov.? Look at that CSV. Not the one that starts today. December just started and that is for January.
You have to meet all the criteria and that includes $300 and 5 items.
I hear you want the badge but if you are going to drive yourself crazy with wanting it, your customer service will struggle.
I suggest sitting down, reading the information on it and coming to grips that some things are outside your control. You can't control reviews. You can't control purchases. You can only control shipping and messages.
And please when your write do add punctuation and such to help us in reading. (And you may want to check your shop, Cherish is spelled cherish not cherrish)
I'm sorry, but I can't tell if you're being serious or joking with ''Christmas is ruined now!'' The lack of stars carries that much weight?
I think I'd be more concerned that there are other Etsy shops selling your name and year bracelets and using your same photos. I don't mean to add more to your worries, but there are also other sites selling your Disney-related jewelry. Do you know how to file a DMCA?
Yes! That Disney licensing must have been VERY expensive, and you'll want to defend your rights!
Review average has to be 4.8 or higher.
I'm sure your holiday season will get better!
A talented watchmaker like you with licensing from Rolex can get by somewhere else if Etsy isn't a good fit for you.
