six digit security code

I have 2 etsy shops and the second one when I try to sign it it keeps giving me a message that it will send me a six digit security code by telephone. I do not get this message and so cannot sign in by my usual method. I have to go to etsy help then sign in with google and then I find I can get into my shop this way. Why am I not getting these code messages on my phone?

Re: six digit security code

You must have set up this step at some point - see "Two-factor authentication"

Re: six digit security code

Are you choosing to have the code sent via calls or text message (SMS)?

Once signed in, be sure to go to your 2 factor authentication settings and download the emergency back-up codes - keep them somewhere safe (separate to your device). You can only use each code once.

Re: six digit security code

@PennysHomespun: There have been reports that the security codes are not sent when an account is also logged in on a different device. When you are logged in check your two factor authorization to make sure that the phone number is correct. Also download your backup codes and keep them somewhere safe, just in case.

Re: six digit security code

Thanks for your reply. I am using the same device as I always do to access my account. I have got into the 2 factor authorization area but cannot find my phone number to check it.
