Log in to your shop and go to Messages and see if the message is in the "From Etsy" folder.  

Etsy will not ask you to confirm details via an email as all the detail about you can be uploaded from your Shop Manager.  Do not reply to emails direct.  The scammers are pretending to actually be Etsy Support!!

thanks. this was not by message or email but instead a big red banner on my shop manager's page so from what your saying I should be OK

If you need to confirm anything, you will have a big red banner.

also, etsy doesn't normally send anything through message,  if it came through etsy messages, and it's not in the "from etsy" folder, as well as the inbox, it's not from etsy
